The Walkmen: UK've got a tour

It’s official! New York City’s finest purveyors of so called rock and roll music (No, not the ones whose rhythm guitarist apparently favours boyish looking, peroxide blonde Mancunians) are coming back to these shores in support of their DiS approved new album, You & Me (reviewed here)

You can see the ‘men for yourselves at the following locations...

October
28th London ULU
29th Manchester Academy 3
31st Leeds Cockpit

November
1st Glasgow Stereo
2nd Dublin Button Factory

Walt from the band has also kindly done a mixtape for DiS readers, check it out here.

No idea who we're banging on about? Praps you'll recognise this one...

'The Rat' by the Walkmen, live for Pitchfork.tv

DiScuss: excited? Prefer their fire*eating past? Everyone seen this lolsome moment on Fox News?

YES!

They played ULU in 2004 and it was awesome. Good news.

Where on earth are...

...the tickets at. Not even gigsandtours seem to have gotten their filthy little fingers into this.

I was so drunk at this show

after watching England go out to Portugal in Euro 2004. I remember the band coming on just as the last penalty kick went in.

Yup

the band were watching it behind me and the promoter had to drag them away to get onstage as there was a curfew. Think they only ended up playing for about 40 mins as a result. Still great though.

you a big fan?

thats in my week off uni...

NME nobbers

put on their site that Walkemen were doing a much larger tour which would of come through Bristol at the Louisiana venue. I don't know what happened there!

I blame NME for this and I blame them for everything else. Nothing new there.

Ha

We'll start getting a habit for this.

I better save my pennies as I'm half-hoping to have a NYC trip before the year is out.

NME are cunts

Always have been, always will be.

that might've been

when The Spinto Band tour dates were sent out by accident, claiming to be The Walkmen tour...

Is it hard to get to the ulu-

it's this right http://www.barflyclub.com/ulu/whatson/listings/full.aspx
I haven't gone to it before because it's quite awkward to travel to (depending where you are)
but I want to go:(

Not really

It's very close to Euston.

YES

For a second I thought it was the same night as our own gig but NO, it's the night before. Hallelujah.
