Shake, rattle, rock and roll: LA quake could've claimed Black Kids

The earthquake that struck Los Angeles two days ago - it measured 5.4 on the Richter scale - could have claimed itself some musical victims.
Ultimately nobody was seriously injured in the quake, perhaps proving that the City of Angels has learnt from past quakes and improved the quality of buildings in high-risk areas, but indie-pop five-piece Black Kids were playing a session for Yahoo when the July 29 shakes started.
Said a band member afterwards:
"We were in the middle of recording a session when the quake occurred. None of us, except (drummer) Kevin, felt it. I saw the photographer make a startled face, and thought, 'Lady, it's a good tune, but REALLY'. I was embarrassed by my smugness when we were told that there was an earthquake."
Just your smugness?

MY EARTHQUAKE TERROR
May I be first to say...
... shame it didn't
Too harsh?
No, I am with you Gringo.
They suck and it a pity an earthquake didn't suck them away from us forever!
Dad joke alert:
That photographer was quaking in her boots. QUAKING - geddit?? QUAKING hahaha!
Their awful cover of Sophie B Hawkins
on the 'I'm Not Going To Teach...' flip caused horrible, horrible earthquakes inside my lobe-brain.
DIS why did you call him smug when he said this to NME.com
"None of us, except Kevin (Snow, drummer), felt it," they explained. "I saw the photographer make a startled face, and thought, 'Lady, it's a good tune, but really'. I was embarrassed by my smugness when we were told that there was an earthquake."
Well done DIS for skewing a shit band to make them seem even more bastardised just so users can complain about them.
Seriously
I don't think I've seen such a quick and vicious backlash for quite some time as the one against Black Kids. I'm not particularly a fan. Not heard the album. Didn't mind the singles. But it seems like just a few weeks ago that they were the apparent bees knees.
This may be the least newsworthy thing to happen ever.
There was some minor thing happen that had no effect on anybody but might've had some effect on some mildly-popular band if something entirely different had happened.
But it didn't.
Broom, broom, screech and beep: 12 bus could've claimed Crystal Castles
The bus that drove past Trafalgar Square five months ago - it measured 5.4 on the big bendy scale - could have claimed itself some musical victims.
Ultimately nobody was seriously injured in the journey, perhaps proving that the City of Cockneys has learnt from past timetables and improved the quality of crossings in high-risk areas, but 8 bit-electro two-piece Crystal Castles had walked across the road in the path of the bus just five minutes before it thundered past.
Said a band member afterwards:
"We were in Pret awaiting our show at The Astoria when the bus rumbled past. Neither of us, except (vocalist) Alice, were near it. I saw a cashier make a startled face, and thought, 'Lady, it's a five pound note and a twenty pence piece for a £3.20 bill thus allowing you to give me smaller change, but REALLY'. I was embarrassed by my smugness when we were told that there was an bus that had gone past on the road we'd walked down just five minutes earlier."
Just your smugness?

BAND IN LA WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENS THERE
Please stick to just telling us when bands do a Radiohead. Thanks.
Yep
you bet
i like
Iris by GooGoo Dolls. That was in the film City of Angels. Which wasn't that good and didn't have an earthquake in it. Interesting.
hey now
Black Kids are a great band and really friendly.
I guess this brings new meaning to "Look at Me (When I Rock Wichoo)"
