Andrew W.K.: lectures hard
- Artists:
- Andrew W.K. »
Michigan-raised party rocker Andrew W.K. will 'play' at London's Madame JoJo's venue on September 19.
The show will see Mr W.K. - he who penned the ultimate party anthem 'Party Hard' - give a lecture of sorts, adopting the guise of motivational public speaker. Since 2005 W.K. has lectured at universities across America, including Yale, New York University and The Carnegie Mellon Institute. The show is his first in the UK for four years.
Topics on offer: who knows? That's the fun, see?
Tickets to the stream-of-consciousness event are priced at £12 advance and available here.

I want to go to this SO BADLY
and I can't.
it's my birthday!
I'm so going to go!
i'm going to this, it seems
awesome
i get wet
is one of the best albums ever, if only for the piano at the start of Ready To Die
i think i may
have to go to this
amazing
it's at the white heat venue, i have no reason not to go!
BIRTHDAY
..
...
I want to go to this, but I fear I have no one to go with. But the smallest possibility Mr WK will scream in my face and make life seem all better is the biggest siren call EVER.
This is a man who hangs around after appearances at festivals
for 12 hours (that's the record I believe - he did about 3 at Reading), to make sure he's signed everything put before him.
So just accost him afterwards and make that particular request.
The nicest man in Rock
and one of the least appreciated, highly talented musicians out there. I fucking love the guy for his positivity, his energy, his life-affirming, no-holds-barred attitude to music making. AWK is a legend, and I will do my utmost to be there.
I will happily claim that The Wolf is the greatest disco-rock album most people have never heard
...
remembers being in the pit at Pyramids 'partying hard' whils Lostprophets fans shouted abuse at the AWK band!
