Point Break... you remember them? They were a boy band who died on their collective ass a few years back. Well, former member Ollie is back with his new project!

His new band Velvetstone are described as a rock band and have been compared to Bon Jovi, Savage Garden and Heart!

The band's official website describes Velvetstone as a seven-piece outfit with both male/female vocalists, full guitars, bass, keyboards and drums backing. The band apparently write all their own material and, I quote :

"deliver passionate, powerful, inspiring pop and will blow away all before them, shocking Britain's pop lovers from their comatose state - induced by an overload of predictable, derivative and formulaic manufactured product".

For a chance to see this live (dig out the leather trousers and grow a mullet, this could be a bumpy ride) they are to play Sound Republic in London on May 17th and the Britannia Pub in Margate on May 22nd.
