What's new in the world of Badmusic?
oappleby by Ollie Appleby April 25th, 2002
So, what's happening in the world of the Badmusic record label then? Releases/gigs from Reuben, Caretaker and Econoline to name but a few

While still struggling to get a distribution deal "becoming more and more ridiculous as time goes by" (i.e. to get their stuff you'll have to attend a Badmusic related gig or order direct from them) they're still making an effort of gigging, recording and releasing records from all of their rock-stable of current and former bands...

Caretaker are taking a rest from playing gigs so that they can write some new songs, a rumours has it that they actually wrote a whole song in 2 hours recently...

Econoline are currently putting the final touches to their debut album 'Music Is Stupid' which will be out through Seriously Groovy sometime soon.

Reuben have just sold out all 1000 copies of their 'Scared Of The Police' single and are still on tour, as well as recording material for their next single. There are still copies of their 'Pilot EP' in, so if you don't have one, you know what to do!

Cat On Form (ex-The Oedipus) have a few dates booked in Brighton and are set to release a 4 track 7" on Vacuous Pop Records "shortly".

Ursa are also taking a break from gigging to write new material, with the mixing the three tracks to eventually feature on a split 10" with The Bias Technicians. Khyam (drums) is also "whoring himself" in Art Of Burning Water.

Badmusic Gig News

After a few months off, Badmusic are returning with a gig at the Railway Inn, Winchester. Have a look at Badmusic for more info on each band and soundclips.

Wednesday, 1st May 2002
Reuben
The Diatribe
Audio:21

Tickets will be £3.50 and aren't available in advance so it's probably worth turning up earlyish. The doors will open at 8pm and the first band will be on at 8:45. The venue is very strict about ID with obviously over-18s having trouble getting an "over 18" stamp. Please note that you don't actually have to be 18 to get in, just to get alcohol.

Finally, records available now from Badmusic...

BMCD001: Caretaker - (Pause) EP [£4]
BMCD002: Econoline - Econoline EP [£4]
BMCD003: Caretaker - Routine [£4]
BMCD004: Various - Please Take Off Your Shoes Before Entering [£6]
BMCD005: Reuben - Pilot EP [£5]
BMCD006: The Oedipus - Blueprint For Ruins EP [£4]

To buy any of our releases, send a cheque for the amount shown above (postage is included) payable to "R Melia" at:
Badmusic, PO Box 436, Godalming, GU7 1GL.
