Tom Waits given a key to El Paso

Tom Waits - currently on tour under the banner 'Glitter and Doom', playing venues stateside before coming to Europe - has been presented with a key to the city of El Paso, Texas.
Waits - born in California - was approached by an officer in uniform while on stage at the city's Plaza Theatre on the evening of June 25 (reports NME.com). Not expecting the award, Waits commented: "I paid all those tickets... She was dead when I got there".
A representative of the city's council then handed him a plaque containing a key. Moved, Waits remarked: "This is a first for me, a real first".

I think you should include one of his older albums too...
Maybe replace Bone machine with Heartattack and Vine...
No one sings a love song like Tom Waits, then follows it up with pure craziness and it still works.

Oh and 'Franks Wild Years' is where I started but 'Raindogs' is as good a place as any.
Stupid questions
1) Does the key actually fit any locks?
2) Can Tom Waits now walk into any bar in El Paso, flash the key around and consequently not pay for drinks?
3) Can the key ever be revoked and taken back for crimes or unsociable behaviour?
4) Was that the only key or do several of them exist?

Road trip from Manchester, except I think now he? announced dates in Manchester? Oh well. I think the hours on the cold hard motorway will only enhance the experience.
