Unreleased Weezer track appears on YouTube

An unreleased track by Weezer - perhaps recorded during the sessions for their latest 'red' self-titled album - has appeared on YouTube.

The song, called 'Turnin' Turnin'', has been cleared as a geniune Weezer track by a band spokesman (reports NME.com), but exactly where it's come from remains unclear.

What?

This is the song they've been writing as part of the Youtube 'write a song with Rivers' blogs.

Dunno if this is the final version, I haven't been following it that closely.

Anyway, this was written by fans, not Rivers himself.

"On June 25 2008, a brand new Weezer track was released onto YouTube, with the title "Turnin' Turnin'". NME.com, the website for the UK alternative music magazine, reported on 25 June 2008 about the story, but were unsure of the origin of the leak.

"Weezer's spokesperson confirmed that the song was genuine, although the origin of the leak is unclear. The backdrop for the YouTube video shows the cover of the band's recent self-titled album, known as 'The Red Album', suggesting that the new song may be recent."[35]

"Turnin' Turnin'" was soon uncovered by THRASH HITS as the song Weezer have been writing with their fans as part of the YouTube “Write a song with Rivers” blogs."

internet articles

are updated all the time and Diver aint Nostradamus you know. the comments at the bottom of the NME story give it away that the article has been changed.
