The best Scottish instrumental rock band ever, Mogwai, are to release a new album in September.
The Hawk Is Howling is set for a September 22nd 2008 release date, and will be preceded by a three track EP.The Batcat EP is out a fortnight prior on September 8th as a CD, 12" vinyl and download. The tracklisting is:

'Stupid Prick Gets Chased By The Police And Loses His Slut Girlfriend'
'Devil Rides'
'Batcat' features on the full length album while 'Devil Rides' features vocals by the legendary Roky Erickson.
The band will be playing some notably large shows the following month. See below.
