Sneakers pimped: Pharrell, The Strokes and Santogold record track for Converse
Pharrell Williams, The Strokes and Santogold have got together to record a trainer-based eulogy for Converse.
Pop heiress Santogold, who plays DiS’ Great Escape show at Brighton Digital tomorrow evening (May 17), had the following to say to Gigwise on her decision to join the money-spinning shoe-in:
"It's like one of the main ways to get our music heard now and so it's stupid for artists to shy away from that"
The ditty is as yet untitled but Santogold, real name Santi White, assures us it is “such a Pharrell track”.
"Everybody on it does their own separate thing," she says. “And we didn't do it together so it ends up being just this weird long song with sort of everybody with lots of their own personalities separate."

Converse is owned by Nike now, right?
They're getting paid in money leveraged from sweat shop workers then.
Righteous good work guys.
They've been owned by Nike for years, I believe
Hasn't stopped legions upon legions of indie kids thinking they're cool though
I kept reading that as..
... "Pharrell, The Strokes and Santogold record track for Converge".
It confused the hell out of me for a moment.
I
read it as this as well!
