Beck will be releasing a new album – his first since 2006 – very, very soon if reports from MTV.com are to be believed.
The music TV giants don’t have anything as precise as a title or a tracklisting, but they do come with the news that the record should arrive in the next four to six weeks through Universal Group, though DrownedinSound has heard XL Recordings will be putting it out in the UK (as yet unconfirmed by the Beggars imprint).
The ever-busy Danger Mouse has produced the new album, apparently, while Pitchfork have confirmed that Cat Power is among a “host” of guest collaborations.

First since 2006....
if that's tongue-in-cheek, then that is quite funny. Otherwise, that's a real Portishead style hiatus he's been on....

* Odelay (1996)
* Mutations (1998)
* Midnite Vultures (1999)
* Sea Change (2002)
* Guero (2005)
* The Information (2006)
