Albert Hammond Junior has finished his second album.
No exact release date has been confirmed yet, though Como Te Llama is expected to arrive in June.
The follow-up to 2006 effort Yours to Keep (review) features thirteen tracks and The Strokes guitarist announced his intention to tour extensively to support the record this year.
“We hope to tour all year and come to each and everyone’s town,” Hammond Jr. said in a MySpace bulletin. “From the bottom of my heart I thank you for all the support you have shown me over the past year or two.”

sole: both sides of the brain
i really liked his first album
hopefully this is good too
So did I
it was an understated pleasure.
is it gonna sound
uncannily like the strokes again?
sorry, i couldnt help it
but it sounded massively like ths strokes to me, i mean his band even fucking looks like them!
well im guessing that may be because they are american musicians
and the songs sound similar as some of them were meant to be strokes songs. Saying a band sound like the strokes isnt necessarily bad at all either.
^This.
The songs are written by the guy who writes the strokes songs, and he decided that they were not exactly strokes. I really liked the first album.
fair dos fair dos,
i may have said it sounded like strokes, but i dint say it was bad, all im saying, is that if i was in his postiion, I'd probably want to do something a bit different artistically on a solo career.
Point taken.
Same actually. Like DJing or sumat.
I don't really think the album sounded like the Strokes
it was sort of more friendly and melodic.
yeah but i mean it was still strokesy
i really liked it though, was a nice gentle listen, good for when you have a headache and stuff
I am
very glad.
i saw him play at ULU a few months ago
he was absolutely superb. looking forward to the new songs
I'm not a Strokes fan
but his first solo album was really nice.
Albert Keeps it Real!
The YOUR TO KEEP ablum is one of the best in a long long time..in an age where senseless screaming with bad songwriting, Alberts talent really shines...and he has a style, which is brought to the table in a more mellow, stylistic manner, rather than the crunch the strokes brings, which i also love. But i hope Albert keeps going with his style, much like the Yours to keep album, i cant get enough of it :)
