Franz Ferdinand to headline Latitude 2008

The organisers of Latitude Festival have let one cat out of the bag ahead of tonight’s grand line-up announcement and that cat is Glaswegian, named after a murdered German archduke, loves afrobeat and has a natty way with a post-punk riff.
That’ll be Franz Ferdinand, then. As we mentioned, the rest of the line-up will be announced just after half past six this evening – DrownedinSound will be there, sneering at the vol-au-vents and jotting down all the relevant details.
Latitude takes place from the 17th ‘til the 20th of July in Suffolk. Tickets go on sale tonight.

THIS IS THE WORST OUTRAGE IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND
SINCE THE LAST TIME A BAND I DIDN'T LIKE PLAYED AT A FESTIVAL WHILST FOUR OTHER BANDS PLAYED ON DIFFERENT STAGES AT THE SAME TIME
Dear Sir,
You can only imagine my disgust upon hearing that inexplicably popular Glaswegian beat combo Franz Ferdinand would be headling at this year's Latitude.
Not since Northern Uproar headlined the 'Kestrel Lager Ones That Won't Make It To A Second Album Stage' at Luton Live 1996 have I felt this level of anger.
Yours,
Disgusted of Bournemouth
uproar
I've got the second northern uproar album, its called 'yesterday, today, tomorrow' i think. They also released a third album when they reformed in 2007.
I've never heard of Franz Ferdinand are they produced by james dean bradfield?
Sigur Ros will be headlining the Sunday
Monster, monster
Franz Ferdinand?!!
How dare they book a band that vast numbers of people like! Why couldnt they get Fuck Buttons or Fight like Apes instead eh? - This is a disaster on a grand scale! How will you all cope?!!! ;OP
