Latest T in the Park additions 'affront' to Scotland, says DiS
Another trickle of bands have been confirmed for this year’s T in the Park Festival.
Ready? Kate Nash, The Hoosiers, One Night Only, Scouting For Girls, Newton Faulkner, David Jordan, Bowling For Soup and Shed Seven will all be at the site in Kinross from the 11th ‘til the 13th of July.
We Are Scientists and The Zutons have also been confirmed for the event which has now sold out. What’s that? Yeah, it’s the sound of 70,000 Scots weeping into their jam sandwiches.
REM, Rage Against the Machine and The Verve have already been confirmed as the festival headliners.

ooh
shed 7.
Jam "sandwiches"?????
Its piece and jam, mate!!
bunch of crap
but i like WAS
Um, you seem to have overlooked Shed 7 there.
And no, i'm not joking.
Wow, the line up is total
gash. Hm.
Jeely Pieces
aye?
Christ
The guru of the Scottish music scene Geoff Ellis has truly proved himself with this line up. Proper bobbins.
Pure
gash
This festival is going from bad to worse
Showing no creative thought and an absolute disregard to a once faithful audience of genuine music fans.
Quite simply, Geoff Ellis and his T In The Park have sold the public up the river too many times over the last 5 years and it should be given no publicity time on this board ever again. By simply ignoring this mockery, I am in hope that it will eventually become a parody and then disappear into a corporate vacuum.
Simply put, this is a national embarassment for a Scotsman. See you at Primavera!
One Night Only
Jesus wept
uh
most people who go to t in the park go to have a pissup in a field and couldnt give a toss about the lineup. ive actually heard someone seriously say "going to t in the park this year, so id better start getting to know some of the bands!". and there are a whole glut of people who just sit themselves 75% of the way from the stage to the central bit, plomp themselves down and never move anywhere (and presumably barely listen to the music)
rem, kate nash and the verve (who recently inexplicably sold out two SECC dates then two glasgow academy dates) will be more than enough of a draw for most of the people who go there
And the moral of the story is
don't buy festival tickets until the line up has been announced.
Ned Fest!
Yes, I'd agree it's unique in the amount of people who care so little about the music. A large proportion are just nasty-looking fence-jumping scum who are only interested in a large piss-up, an anything-goes attitude to hard drugs, some bullying, and a fight if you're lucky. If you need some proof then just look how quiet the Sunday is compared to the Saturday when they're all coming to terms with their hangovers.
Heh.
To be honest this is the sort if line up that attracts the scum who go to TiTP, with obvious exceptions.
A terrible line up for a festival over run with neds and scum.
DF better not make a hips of the Connect lineup this year or I will most unhappy.
Agree with all of your point
but what I am saying is that this festival has simply let itself get swept along by the almighty dollar earnt through revenues from food, drink and merchandise concessions rather than the 'attractions' it is supposed to be about.
If the people who bank themselves down into a 10ft squared area and are prepared to pay £125 for extravegant picnic then fair enough. More fool them really. It simply speaks volumes about the attitude that a sizeable number of the public have towards entertainment and music. Pedestrian and really don't mind paying hand-over-fist to be one of the crowd. It is that level of aspiration and demand that makes T In The Park and many other festivals like it, such a fertile area for unimaginative billings and one-size fits all mentality.
I guess with T In The Park, Tennents would claim that they cater for and support leftfield music through Triptych, but this is a token gesture to apease the people who would once have attended T In The Park and could find some of the music they put on at Triptych on the festival bill proper.
Baws to DF
Jesus! What a pile of middle of the road piss!! Worst line up ever at T in the Park and DF doesnt give a shit.
They knew it was going to sell out and can just sit back and book any old crap that comes along.
Rage will be good in a re-living teenage angst kinda way but the rest is just dull, dull, dull!
DF fuked up last years T in the Park in a BIG way. And no apologie was given to all the poor folk who had to wait for hours in tail backs to then arrive and be turned away becuse the car park were flooded.
They stated that there was "nothing they could do as they didnt expect rain".
WTF!! Its SCOTLAND! It rains all the fucking time!!! At least say sorry or give the poor punters a free pint or somthing for crist sake!
The way you get treated when you do get there is a piss take (ive been to pleantly of festivals and T is by far the worst), Discusting camp sites, checkpoints every 2 yards, searched constantly, hearded around like sheep in shit. Fuck DF and the multi million pound making corporate whore of a festival they have created.
im not a df fan in the absolute slightest
but a lot of the blame for the disgusting camp sites and searches has to be put on the behaviour of a large proportion of the people who go to the festival, right?
even middle class students are mostly pretty disgusting, let alone neds (yay for stereotyping!)...no matter how much df spent on toilet facilities they would still be boufin' by saturday morning, i guarantee it. and if i went id be quite happy with constant searches if it ruled out the possibility of me getting hit over the head with a buckie bottle that some scumbag throws over the crowd
I like the line up.....
.....does that make me a bad person? :D
Worst festival line-up of 2008
so far, although I'm sure Glastonbollocks will give it a run for its money.
Yeah, pretty much
I really like pop music and still think this is a bad lineup. Just the lack of variety, perky pop following by perky pop. I would be finding it hard to cope towards the end.
Yes
an awful one! :P
Twee In The Park
I stopped going to festivals years ago after I realised that the main choices were:
Expensive Indie Gulag
Pubescent Metal Orgy
London Pramfest (in any park)
Beer Company Presents: UK City!
Titbox Weekender
That said, I was gutted not to go to Roadburn this year...
Bowling For Soup are brilliant fun live
I am not joking.
But there's a lot of rubbish in there, you're right.
T(wits) in the Park
Fair enough re searches - damn that fukin Slam tent and it's buckie lovin twits (Hey your right - Stereotyping's ace!).
The toilet siutation is always a joke at T.
Went to Benni for frikkin 5days last year and there toilets all managed to stay relitivly clean (not that I check em all mind), it was a much better line up too, over more days and £50 cheaper. Not to mention the sun and genra layout and vibe of the place is much better.
(Im obviusly getting old that im moaning about toilets & layouts of festivals :)
