Horrorshow? Libertines musical in the works
The most important news of the weekend, by some distance? Carl Barat is looking to sit down again with estranged ying Pete Doherty to write a musical.
The former Libertines hope to convene at some point to pen the show, though finding the opportunity and organisation to do that may throw up a significant barrier, time-keeping not among the most obvious of Doherty’s strengths.
Or so I’m told.
“We’re supposed to be writing some musical, which I really wanna do, but it’s a matter of timing it and sorting it really,” the Dirty Pretty Thing told the Mirror.
“It will be in the vein of the Threepenny Opera but I guess a bit more local to what we understand in the world today.”
Something like this, perhaps? Elbows akimbo, loves, ‘cor blimey geezer, lend us your phone, yeah fuck off, nice one.
