Islands: second album details revealed

Islands will release a new album this spring.

Arm’s Way is pencilled in for issue through Rough Trade Records on the 19th of May, as CD and download.

The album was made in Montreal and a converted barn in rural Washington State; Elvis Presley used the very same barn to cut his first record. Its songs are inspired by desperate wood-marooned tyre blow-outs, thunderstorms and the true story of a gang of local kids from main man Nick Thorburn’s home town that brutally murdered a local fisherman.

Titles include ‘The Arm’, ‘Pieces of You’, ‘In the Rushes’ and ‘Vergito (If it’s a Crime)’.

The band tour, sponsored by DiS, ahead of the album’s release – details below:

February
19 Belfast Speakeasy
20 Manchester Night and Day
21 Bristol Louisiana
23 Nottingham Social
24 Brighton Barfly
25 Cambridge Barfly
26 Hoxton Bar and Grill

exciting!

shame i can't make it to any of the tour dates

has the Bristol date moved?

Louisiana would be much better than during Death from Above

Me: excited

I thought they were

playing in Glasgow too?????

anyone

have any samples of the new stuff ? not to download just to listen to - their myspace is just the old tunes...

nope :(

they cancelled. lame!

wasn't cancelled

there was a booking mistake. Don't think they were ever going to play in Glasgow.

yes!

can't wait to hear the new songs & see them next month, excitement!

argh, really?

they were great when they came last year. It's a bit crap that yet another band are ignoring Scotland completely - people live here too! Hopefully they'll come back.
