Q: What’s more fun than writing a news story half-drunk on Pimms and lager?
A: A Yeah Yeah Yeahs remix of The Hives, that’s what.
The Scandinavian elf rockers’ comeback single ‘Tick Tick Boom’, already brilliant in a sex-with-an-ex kind of way, has now been sprinkled with magic dust by YYY’s resident art pixie Nick Zinner for your aural delectation.
His ‘Post Colonization Mix’ is available for free download HERE.
In addition fans have the opportunity to design the sleeve artwork for the band’s new single, ‘We Rule The World (T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S), which is out February 25 backed with exclusive remixes by Zinner and Matt Helder from Arctic Monkeys.
The winning design will adorn the 10” single sleeve and accompany the digital release of the single, to enter simply stick to the following guidelines…
Keep it (mostly) black and white
Work to a square format to be delivered at 300DPI
That’s it!
Entries must be submitted by January 21 to thehivescoverart@googlemail.com.
Good luck, and for God’s sake, put it away.
