Foals have released more details of their forthcoming debut album in a MySpace bulletin sent out today.
Opening with an apology for “anyone who tried to buy Balloons and was sent something rather different,” - a fuckup "on behalf of iTunes and the gnashing machinations of DA MAN," apparently - frontman Yannis Philippakis then moves on to the subject of ver inaugural longplayer.
Antidotes will be out through Transgressive – Sub Pop in the US – in March next year.
It will be full of the following:
‘The French Open’
‘Cassius’
‘Red Socks Pugie’
‘Olympic Airways’
‘The Race For Radio Supremacy’
‘Balloons’
‘Heavy Water’
‘Two Steps, Twice’
‘Big Big Love (Fig.2)’
‘Like Swimming’
‘Tron’
This news story is now only lacking the obligatory Foals sign-off.
“anyway more nitty gritty to come.
my foot is starting to feel better.
love you all.
love you all.
love you all.
a rat is a cat that don't stand straight.
almost xmas cheer is here to stay.
Yannis
xx”
Done and sated.

Camden Crawl 2008: the DiS preview
Excited, lots.
The French Open as the first track should set it all up nicely as well...
Hummer?
Mathletics?
Disappointing
Hummer's amongst the best they've done.
GOOD ONE GUYS.
i'm glad tbh
that they've missed those two bigguns off it. leaves more room for newer songs. Red Socks Pugie is amazing.
Anyone who's interviewed them before
Another DiSer and myself are off to interview these later for radio- we've never interviewed anyone in our life, any tips? Will they respond better to provocative questions or generic Q&A fare? Relaxed informal chats or rigid set o' questions? Help!
tron
doesn't sound like a closing track. but i'm excited, especially over what 'big big love (fig. 2)' holds... as (fig. 1) is amazing.
also, i'm all for hummer and mathletics being left off.
well....
last week really wasn't it?.
I don't get what you mean
If I ask that, will I get a punch?
i interviewed yannis
and he was really nice i thought. asked him stuff about recording the album, how the songs have changed, about 'contempories' like youthmovies and touring and stuff. he was really responsive and eloquent. it was my first interview too!
i'm pleased big big love is on it
...in some form
shame
astronauts and all is not on there. should be a good'un.

Leaving off Hummer and Mathletics -
Brave or foolish?
I don't even like Hummer that much
Balloons ftw.
not even just brave
but seriously a good idea. there are already too many songs on there i already know.
looking forward to this
Expecting big things from this record :-)
This Album..
is gona be groundbreaking.
This band are gona be huge
This is the future!
if they had included Hummer and Mathletics
that would have made 6 songs that people already had (albeit as demos etc.)
would have been good to see how David Sitek reworked hummer and mathletics anyway though considering Balloons sounds pretty much the same with a saxophone added.
