Erstwhile indie quintet Radiohead have announced a set of UK and Irish dates for next summer.
Revealing five massive outdoor shows, including a reprise of the Victoria Park gigs held just before the release of Kid A, the band left the 28th of June – the Saturday of Glastonbury – open.
Time will tell if that proves to be siginificant or otherwise, but for now these are the details you’re after:
June
7 Dublin Malahide Castle
24 London Victoria Park
25 London Victoria Park
27 Glasgow Green
29 Manchester LCCC
It doesn’t have huge consequences if I’m flamboyantly hungover and late with this news, as tickets don’t go on sale ‘til 10am this Friday (7 Dec). The price?
£42.50. Erstwhile.

why?
So you pay £42.50, plus an usual booking fee and transaction fee, you get there and you'll have an awful view and the sound will be poor.
£42.50???
Stick it up your arse. No way.
EXTORTIONATE
fuck that.
I imagine
they'll be a good full supporting bill to make the cost worth it but there's no way I can afford it at the moment.
also,
they're not very good at music.
Glasgow Green Sept 2000
I paid £25 for that gig. A band in their prime. This is far beyond inflation.
^this
as much as i love radiohead, i cannot possibly justify £42.50 for this.
Wowzers
that is expensive!
I'm gonna get myself off to Roskilde next year, I reckon. I'll see them there.
Of course, my dad will probably want to go, and if he wants to get me a ticket, that's fine by me... :)
That'll nicely subsidise
those downloads that costed nowt.
another one for the credit card
methinks.
And I was doing so well at paying it off.
Ouch.

.
FUCK ME THAT'S MORE THAN BJORK
They could still *technically*
play Glastonbury. But they won't, will they?
I think they will
but I'd rather go to Victoria Park and not get hypothermia again
possibly
i forget the dates of glasto, what is it this year?
fucking hell though.
like seriously.
when i saw this news i was so excited.
£42 quid is absolutely ridiculous.
fuck me
we should rename this site drowned in curmudgeons.
Victoria Park 2000
was one of the most disappointing gigs I have ever been to. It took us ages to get there, the weather was shite, and despite it being in a circus tent everything around it was muddy, the sound horribly quiet, the view of the stage abysmal.
I think I'll give this one a miss.
42 quid is alot
but
the bill will be awesome
and
in case you had not noticed
Radiohead NEVER have crap sound.
Their sound is done by Japanese inventors from the future
It was even crystal clear at Wembleyt Arena
It is always crystal clear cos they spend a fucking ton on extra special PA gubbins.
Meanwhile, where is my discobox?
If it's the last weekend in June
it'll be the 28th, 29th and 30th. If it's the second from last weekend, it'll be the 20th, 21st and 22nd
Either way, there's the potential amongst these tour dates to play at Glastonbury, but I can't see it really
pleaseprovemewrongpleaseprovemewrong
£40 for the box set / £42 for the gig
Box of goodies vs. The price of a night of live music. Ive already forked out for one, do i go the whole hog?
If i buy a ticket to one of these shows, which i might have to, then it will have to be a Victoria Park date despite being from 250miles north, but i will be down for My Bloody Valentine anyway, so could hang around a few more days with friends.
All the other mainland dates clash with Glastonbury, which i wanted to go to in 2008 for sure.
If they play it thats a definite, and i will just sell my Victoria Park ticket. Anyone else?
I totally trust their sound
even outside, but why sell tickets the same month as Christmas!!!?? *sob*
come one studes
dig deep its the 'Head!
A little well informed bird has told me that
Radiohead are headlining Glastonbury.
Believe me, or don't. Whatever.
£42.50... Take frickin' That were cheaper... geez...
i'd pay that for Bjork
not for Radiohead. Last year it was only £30! What's happening?
Whats happening??
Quite obviously they're making up for lost money on giving their album away for free!
I just checked the price for the Dublin gig
€70.70
Balls to this, I'm sick of paying more than everyone else
oh well even if the price wasn't enough
i'll be headed to minehead when they go on sale, so i can't be going :(
will there be
a presale for this??
Hmm
Well 7 years ago Victoria Park was £25
http://theogb.com/media/gigography/10.jpg
That seemed a lot then.
who?
who are this band, should I have heard of them?
Mine
arrived today.
i shall
be there
Vic Park
What goes on in there then? Outdoors gig or inside a marguee tent thing. Don't they know that England is submerged in rain around June? As for that price tag.......
^^Marguee tent???
I've no idea what one of those is.
It might be £42.50 at the best Premiership clubs
for the best seats, but you can get a seat at a Premiership ground as cheap as £15, with a better view from the back of the ground than you will at the back of Victoria Park.
This is known as sliding-scale.
See, people rip into me for loving Pearl Jam
But their tickets were £30 for the last tour, on the English leg of the tour.
Bands can have a say in how much they charge, most just don't give a shit. Or are gouging bastards, as Radiohead seem to have become.
