Big-time reunion studs My Bloody Valentine are reportedly considering releasing a new album the Radiohead way.
The latest to consider converting to the new way confirmed that fresh recording will soon commence as manager Vinita Joshi told Billboard: “At the moment, all I can say is that Kevin (Shields) is getting the band back together and they will go into the studio next month to work on the new record.”
"The plan is that they will release the album themselves via the Internet, but there will also probably be a vinyl release," continued Joshi, before adding that the band probably wouldn’t allow fans to ‘name their price’ like Yorke and co. did.
Impetus for the first MBV record since Loveless in 1991 came when the act confirmed a slew of live reformation shows would take place in the UK next summer – find details below:
June
20 London Roundhouse
21 London Roundhouse
22 London Roundhouse
23 London Roundhouse
28 Manchester Apollo
29 Manchester Apollo
July
2 Glasgow Barrowlands
3 Glasgow Barrowlands
Rumours of the motivation that many alleged was behind those shows – a possible headlining slot at the Coachella festival in the US – have been quashed by Joshi however:
"If the band had been booked to play any summer festivals, I'd know about it. We'll see how the summer shows go first."
In other news, bands have been banned from reforming for at least another 36 months. This is to allow tired, bored news writers to try and regain the basic will to live. Bands must also not, whether reformed or otherwise, announce, reveal or otherwise allude to 'doing a Radiohead'. Please?

im still to see a reformation where
their combined weight isn't astronomically higher than their collosal combined age.
I love MBV
