Anodyne pop sap Rivers Cuomo is to branch out from Weezer with the release of a new solo record.
The album, known as Alone - The Home Recordings of River Cuomo, will feature demos from the last 15 years of Cuomo's life.
Released on the 11th of December through Geffen - a Tuesday, so we're guessing US - the record does not by any means signal a tailing off of Cuomo's longterm project.
Weezer's official site reveals that the band are in the process of making a new album, which should be out sometime in the new year.

He should release "Songs From the Black Hole"
or whatever it was called
Hopefully he'll include some of the songs on this.
Anything from Pinkerton era would be welcomed. And Pig, too.
Hopefully
he'll have demos of Beverly hills as well.
I BLOODY knew
someone would mention Songs From The Black Hole.
It doesn't exist. Get over it.
Songs From The Black Hole
has mostly been released anyway, hasn't it? Half of it's on Pinkerton, and a few tracks surfaced in other places. There was one on a compilation a couple of years ago, and I'm sure there were one or two others floating around online.
yes it does
he recorded demos for the whole album, some songs were reworked for pinkerton, some demos were released though riverscuomo.com back in the day, others remain unreleased

happy emoticon...

I thought they had split up or announced that they weren't really working as a band anymore or something?? Good news then.
That said, their last album was absolute fucking garbage.
At least we'll
find out if rivers is whats making weezer so shit now days.
That
is a very good point.
