Rejoice, fans of the Gulag! Beirut and his Orkestar will be back in October with a new album.
The record is still untitled, but a tracklisting has been confirmed. Find it lying somewhere below. A lot of it is French.
Beirut, AKA 21-year-old Zach Condon, was flanked by an eight-piece band for the recordings. Condon was also helped out by Owen Pallett, who helped put together the string arrangements and contributed vocals to 'Cliquot'.
Tracklisting, as promised:
'A Call To Arms'
'Nantes'
'A Sunday Smile'
'Guyamas Sonora'
'La Banlieu'
'Cliquot'
'The Penalty'
'Forks and Knives (La Fête)'
'In The Mausoleum'
'Un Dernier Verre (Pour la Route)'
'Cherbourg'
'St. Apollonia'
'The Flying Club Cup'
Beirut will play a free gig on London's South Bank this coming Monday - if you want to go, get yourself to the Royal Festival Hall at 6pm. You'll be lead, possibly by the hand, to a secret location and the show will start at half six.

I thought that too...Don't fret, I'll get right on it!
owen pallett collaboration!?
oh god, this is going to be amazing!
Amused
by having a song on the album called 'Cherbourg' - it's the French equivalent of having an album track called 'Portsmouth'. Which incidentally is a fantastic place name to try and get a passing Frenchman to pronounce - 'putzmoot' is the closest they get

Ohio. thats equally funny...
Cherbourg sounds a bit more romantic than portsmouth, really...
Ooh
free bonus gig, sounds great. Any more specific info on where to meet up for it at the royal festival hall, or any other info? Would be horrible to turn up and be stood waiting in the wrong place..
Ah
Info found elsewhere:
'To join in, simply meet at the ’Appearing Rooms’ water feature, outside the Royal Festival Hall, on London’s South Bank at 6pm sharp. From there you shall be lead to a secret spot on the South Bank for a performance by Beirut at 6.30pm.'
Rock on the Beirut
