Sodding hell: Heavy rain predicted for Glasto
They say all news is bad news these days. Well, this misery-guts tendency may prevail at the newsdesks of real media outlets like the BBC and Reuters - But not at DiS. No, you might think this news 'good' or 'bad' - depending on whether you have a ticket or not.
Weather forecasters have predicted heavy rain for the Saturday and Sunday at Glastonbury. Friday will be okay - 17 degrees, mainly sunny - but after that things will probably get dire.
So, smug or sunk? It's not enough to put me off the idea but it won't be Primavera. That really has raised the bar this year.

Mud is good.
they ALWAYS predict bad weather for glasto, its because they hate the idea that it wont conform to their preconceptions. Its in a microclimate anyway.
that dude HEARTS rain
fucking look at him.
like a duck to water.
the sick fuck.
who? me?
or the guy in the picture...?
GOOD!
I've been 11 times (look at me!) and 4 of those years were quite frankly fucking shit thanks to the rain - there is nothing good about rain at a 'fezzie' - I'm just gutted I'm missing the Wurzels this year, AGAIN.
I hate to think how many diseases
.. he had in the weeks and months after that photo was taken
Yeah, but the difference is that i can go home and have a hot shower
cos i live but a stones throw from the site.

goodbye wit, hello shameful correction.
grrr
I've just had the joyful experience of watching the sink and washing machine in my flat spew out water up from the drains, which clearly couldn't cope with the torrential deluge of biblical proportions that swept across town this morning. My kitchen and lounge are now awash with mud, water and possibly worse.
That said, at least I'm not at Glasto...
also
it works better than erecting a fence
Forecast for Benicassim
is the same...
Ahh, who the fuck am I kidding :)
:-(
I for one would prefer a dry festival
HAHAHAA
Good effort, wrecked by typing skills
A couple of thoughts...
1) Weather forecasters aren't exactly great at predicting what the weather will be later today, so how can you possibly expect them to predict the weather a fortnight in advance? My forecast: snow on the Friday, scorching heat on the Saturday, Vitalic on the Sunday night.
2) Everyone went on about the weather being so godawful at Glasto '05. Fact is that from Wednesday morning till Monday lunchtime, there were only 8 hours of rain, from about 3am till 11am on the Friday morning. It just so happened that the 8 hour torrential downpour, coupled with the bone-dry ground combined to cause flash floods. This year, the ground should be a bit better prepared for rain, what with it having rained all through May.
i am actually
going to cry.
...
GOOD!
It'll be fine...
and if its not, what are going to do? Go home?
LOL
ha, hope so!

The water's far more likely to get into a tipi.
I on the other hand will be in a camper...
It's already changed
to just a few showers on the friday.
Drown hippy scum drown
With a dry cool wit like this I could be an action hero.
Microclimate?
hate to dissapoint.... it isn't.
It IS!
i live near it! I know!
weather changed again:
rain throughtout the weekend with a slight chance of gravel
I was camped under a plyon
and waking up in the morning to that was terrible.
i live in it
i know
er..yes
i was just sharing my general excitement for my tipi.
but now that you mention it, how much more likely is it for water to enter my tipi than a tent. cmon, hit me with some figures, id be really interested......
