Hehe....just a shame the Strokes couldn't beat 'em at the last minute, ay? And did Metal really ever go away? As far as I can see, it's pretty much the same testosterone soaked, macho embarrassment, but with a little bit of bad rapping on top. Time to vanquish those navel-gazing Metal males I say - we don't feel your pain, and we couldn't care less. :-)

WOOHOO, don't really care where Slipknot are in the charts as let's face it, it was bound to happen anyway.

However Uncle Kracker breaking into the charts makes me happy... I've been singing his praises for over a year now and finally people know who is :), plus his album is just dandy, buy it!! I want him to tour here so buy it damnit! pwease :)

The Strokes are an over-rated over-hyped buch of cunts who will go exactly the same way as those other great-white hopes Gay Dad and Terris...and before you try and jump back at me, yes i have heard the album and yes i have seen them live and yes i have met them...and they are cunts like i said...However it is fucking great to see Slipknot at No.1 i fucking love them and have done since before the last album came out, and on two other points
1: Slipknot's lyrics although sometimes slighty weak are generally good and;
2: Just because i like Slipknot this does not mean i am
a)dumb (I am about to study for a degree in English Language and Sociology)
b)macho (if you could hear me laugh)
c)Middle class (see above)
d)Nu-Metal exclusive (Radiohead are my favourite band alongside Portishead, Bjork, and Miles Davis)

I didn't actually mention the strokes, that was tom. I was commenting more on the nu-metal scene as ive observed it, and these gigs do seem to be populated by moronic spoilt little brats in hoodies. Sure, no need to tar all fans with the same brush. this is just the pattern i've noticed, and it doesnt say much about the music really. Respect to your other choices, but slipknot's sound just doesnt do anything for me. The only feelings it could realistically stir in the listener is hate/angst (and it doesnt even seem to work on that level with me, i just get bored and cringe at the ultimately rather naff rarrghgh metal sound).
