Metal Takeover Continues

The U.K. Metal revolution took a further upward turn tonight when Slipknot's 'Iowa' opus shot straight into the U.K. Album chart at number one. Despite competition from the likes of The Strokes, Bjork, 5ive and New Order, the Des Moines 9-piece became quite possibly the most extreme outfit to ever hold the nations number one album.
All of this comes one week after Staind's 'Break the Cycle' achieved the same feat and after showing glimpses of success all year long, rock is finally back at the top of the charts. Kid Rock's turn-table master Unkle Kracker also enjoyed success today, when his debut 'Follow Me' single charted in the top three of the singles chart. Let's all go out and by Slayer's 'God Hates Us All' album next week then, eh!?
