Exit stage left: Patrick Wolf to retire from performing
ssssamuel by zzzzzz zzzzzz April 24th, 2007

Wiry-haired eccentric Patrick Wolf has announced his plans to withdraw from entertaining his hordes of adorers on the live circuit. Though, readers, this is not quite the final bow, as he continues to work in the studio.

Although he recently attempted to open himself to a wider audience by performing on, amongst other fine programmes, the exhausting Charlotte Church Show, this failed to erect his recent decent ‘The Magic Position’ to above the unfortunately stationed chart slot of 69.

Wolf, real name Apps, revealed on his website forum:

"I am not sure whether there will be any public communications after that, in fact I am pretty sure there will be none.” […] “A creative clock is ticking and I have many, many creative projects to be creating with my time left on earth. I hope to share my last shows with you this year."

Read the delirious post half way down here.

Word bandied round suggests that these shows will be orchestra-backed retrospective performances in November.
