Sad news...
DiS is sorry to say that them Texan makers of graceful twinkling (known to some as the genre post-rock), Explosions In The Sky, have had a spot of bother with planes. This has lead to them postponing their show tonight in Glasgow and tomorrow in Manchester. This is what the band have to say for themselves...
"Hi everyone,
We're sad to say that, on account of some insane and severe storms that have been hammering the eastern seaboard of the US, we have had to cancel our shows in Glasgow and Manchester. We were supposed to leave the US this afternoon but it didn't happen because of the huge amount of air traffic delays. We have a new set of flights scheduled and we have every intention of showing up for the London show.
Both of the missed shows will be rescheduled and all tickets wil be honored. We will let you know any information as to when as soon as we have it.
Anyway, we are truly sorry about this. Please spread the word to anyone you might know who was thinking of attending.
Love and apologies,
Explosions"
Details of new dates will be posted when we have them.
A spokesperson for the aviation industry was not available to comment whether this cancelling of flights was anything to do with the band's seemingly insensitive artwork and moniker post-9/11.
DiScuss: How emo does this make you feel? Are you just gonna sit around listening to their records really loudly instead and sit there wondering why even when you turn it up full it doesn't sound THAT loud?

The last part of the article
is a joke, right?
.
Why do people have to use the word Emo in every day life now? I wish that word would fuck off
no
deadly serious, DiS always try and cover all angles. from british sea power to british airways.
:)
severe storms?
so there literally were explosions in the sky.
I'm really
pissed off about this
Annoying...but happens
I was intially annoyed but there is literally nothing the band could have done...
Global Warming
That's what's to blame for this. I think Mark E Smith said it best when he said: "It was the Government's fault. It was the fault of the Government".
Their artwork........
was actually pre 9/11. In fact they predicted 9/11 with a picture a plane flying into a building and the words: "this plane will crash tomorrow". The albium was rleased the dauy before 9/11. Spooky.
How much time do you reckon the FBI spent investigating those prophetic words? Surely these guys must be part of a conspiracy theory somwhere...
Oh no! Damn weather!!
According to the Manchester Academy website the Manchester gig is re-scheduled to Wednesday 11/07/07.
re: Their artwork
Oh, for god's sake, man. Did you have to dig up that old conspiracy theory myth again? It's utter bulls***. See wikipeida.
I for one am crossing all my fingers that EITS will make it to london tomorrow.
Didn't
Hip-Hop "mavericks" The Coup have to recall their album at the time because it had the same image on the cover?
Phatcats Bigga Fish. Man. If you guys don't get the Beats & Ryhmes thing, get that track and lap it up.
