Does It Offend You, Yeah =

the shizzle. These have got to be some of the first live dates they've done. Now THAT should be your story, Diver

Naaaah.

Balrog or Sagat.
They PWNED.

Guile

was the man, especially when he was played by Jean Claude F'N Van Damme. And he was the only character to name one of his special moves after a member of Spaceman 3.

yawn.

hadouken.
beat me up someone.

The funny thing about Hadouken

They have that song about indie scenesters but if I spied this lot in 93feet east I'd swiftly conclude that they were the biggest scenesters alive.

that indie scenester song is great because...

after having the pleasure of a drunken conversation with them.....

they absolutely HATE indie scensters. with a passion.
Which is great because they have just formed this little in joke. i <3 them Just for that!

I've said it before

and I'll say it again, anyone who writes a three-minute song calling the singer from the Kooks a cunt is alright by me.

superstar

is about the singer from Kooks? i had no idea

Immature.

'That Boy That Girl'.

They must be really insecure about what they look like and how people perceive them, if they're writing songs attacking 'indie cindies'.

Granted, these prick students are really shit people, but I don't give a fuck what they're wearing or doing.

I once wrote a song like this when I was about 14 about emos. At the time I thought it was ace, but as I've got older, I hardly assess anyone else's presence at all; definitely not enough to write a scathing song about them.

Also, I look forward to Hadouken's second album.

..

'I don't assess anyone's presence at all' ok, so whats the moral there then? don't write songs about things that affect you? Don't write songs about things you're passionate about? Don't write about anything at all?

People have such misconceptions about this band, they're not chancing 'new-rave' scenesters but a literate, educated band with an impressive history of producing // remixing grime and garage tracks, and an ambitious, stylised sound which transcends this abysmal 'new-rave' tag

You can't liken your song to theirs simply because they both have a similar topic. Thats just nonsensical. Does your song burst with wit, flair, dynamism and energy? Does your song whip a roomful of kids into a euphoric, joyous frenzy within three seconds of it starting? Doubtful.

If it wasn't for artists like hadouken! pushing boundaries and not being afraid to just fuck things up a little, then the music scene would be a far duller environment. There's already a debate on here about 'indie-culling' and when bands like The View, The Twang etc get lauded in the music press then you know things are becoming a little dire.

The further new bands can get away from MOR drivel the better as far as I'm concerned, and for that I respect Hadouken immensely

i think some of the above point..

..is further reflected in some of their blog stuff:
http://hadoukenblog.blogspot.com/index.html

crap

i hate that every 'exciting' new band in Britain just makes some really obvious observations about the NME indie culture it exists in, and after that, has fuck all to say and fuck all vision, 'message' whatever.

You don't have to drudge up the most mundande chip-shop/indie club imagery to be 'authentic' and 'real'.

i'd pay £100 to see some British rock that can put across some profound sentiments without pandering to this same old same old indie club 'comin up from the streets' bullshit.
most of the people making this music and getting excited over it are further from the street than the average skyscraper loft.

i can think

of comparably few that do that really, I guess the obvious example if you're talking about 'nme bands' is klaxons

i know what you mean though, it does get a little tired

Its too easy to praise someone

JUST because they're getting away from MOR drivel. Its probably easier to get away from it than it is to make it.

Being 'different' doesn't mean you're good. Hadouken aren't either. They sound like Dizzy Rascal and Klaxons on a boring sandwich.
