Super her-O: Indie monsters unite for Spiderman soundtrack
Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Killers and The Flaming Lips head a cast of contributors who have donated tracks to the official Spiderman 3 soundtrack.
Black Mountain and The Walkmen have also contributed to a tracklist apparently stocked by new compositions, a somewhat dubious claim given the inclusion of both Chubby Checker and Jet.
Here's the teamsheet:
Snow Patrol - 'Signal Fire'
The Killers - 'Move Away'
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - 'Sealings'
Wolfmother - 'Pleased to Meet You'
The Walkmen - 'Red River'
Black Mountain - 'Stay Free'
The Flaming Lips - 'Spiderman vs. Muhammad Ali'
Simon Dawes - 'Scared of Myself'
Chubby Checker - 'The Twist'
Rogue Wave - 'Sight Lines'
Coconut Records - 'Summer Day'
Jet - 'Falling Star'
Sounds Under Radio - 'Portrait of a Summer Thief'
Wasted Youth Orchestra - 'A Letter to St. Jude'
The Oohlas - 'Small Parts'
Spiderman 3 is scheduled for a UK release date of May 4th, and is directed by the legendary Sam Raimi.

I want my nickelback
standing heroically on a rooftop, gramcing with earnest at the angst of their music...
(add your own rooftop misfortune death fantasy here)
but blimey. rogue wave? wow.
When is Bruce Campbell going to release an album?
He could sing about how awesome he is. And we could all nod our heads and stamp our feet in agreement.
Standing on the
rooftops everyone scream your heart out!
Sorry.
that would be chintastic.
I'm sorry.
Would you settle....
...for Chubby Checker standing heroically on a rooftop?
I know I bloody would
but
Rogue Wave, ahhh, love em
Spider-Man 2
is a perfect comic book film with so much love gone into it. I hope 3's the same!
technically speaking
it was a chad kroeger solo effort.
although some more skeptical listeners might think seal's 'kiss from a rose' was a major factor in the 'composition' of this 'song'.
doing 'that' is annoying, isn't it.
er...
not sure I should divulge this but I heard the Snow Patrol effort and it was, erm, quite good.
PS Liked the Jet gag...
