Bloc Parties: band queues up Summer festivals
TheBoyDeadly by TheBoyDeadly February 22nd, 2007

Bloc Party have confirmed themselves for three of this Summer's major UK festivals.

Speaking to 6Music, Gordon Moakes revealed that the band would be playing fields in Berkshire, Somerset and Perth and Kinross when the sun returns:

“I don't know which ones have been announced from which ones haven't, but I know we're playing T In The Park. I think we're playing Reading Festival, and Glastonbury, so I think we'll be ever-present over the summer.”

Will they shoot confetti out of cannons again? Who knows. What we do know is that someone has been shooting coins at lead singer Kele Okereke. Someone in Aberdeen. Tut and, indeed, tut.

"Somebody threw a coin and it kind of threw Kele's concentration more than anything else, because he was in the middle of a song," Moakes said of the band's recent gig at the silver city's Music Hall.

"When we got through to the end of it, I said, 'Do you want to go off stage?' So we came off, and I think we were all a bit shaken by the whole thing."

We're listening to Malcolm Middleton in the office. He's well Scottish. He also just said "Ah, Autumn you fucking cunt / Keep bringing me memories that I dinnae want". Och Kele dinnae wun thet coyn throon en hes fess noo neether laddeh!

Oh, how I've missed writing news.
