Metric announce extra headline dates
sean by Sean Adams January 11th, 2007

Dear DrownedinSound,
You're idiots for not telling us that Metric were doing the Bloc Party gigs which sold out in like half a millisecond, now I can't go see Metric and sing my little heart out to Monster Hospital. I absolutely hate you. Sort it out.
Peace,
Bobby Fuller,
17 Oxford, England.

You spoke, we listened. Drowned in Sound Recordings' Canadian quartet Metric are back over here to play with Bloc Party, but they've added three extra headline dates for folks in London, Brighton and Oxford. Their tour dates now look like this...

January
Sat 27th Guildhall Southampton *
Sun 28th UEA Norwich *
Tue 30th Dingwalls London [tickets]
Wed 31st Audio Brighton

February
Thu 1st Astoria London *
Sat 3rd Leas Cliff Hall Folkestone *
Sun 4th Zodiac Oxford
Mon 5th Hexagon Reading *
Tue 6th University Cardiff *
Wed 7th Academy Bristol *
Fri 9th Great Hall (Uni) Exeter *
Sat 10th Academy Birmingham *

* = supporting Bloc Party. All BP shows are sold out.

Metric release their new single 'Empty' on February 12th; it's taken from their much-loved album Live it Out, which is out now. The single will be available as a limited-edition 7" backed with a remix of 'The Police And The Private' by Howie B. Check back next week to see the video for the single, find out more about their new album - which they've just started working on - and about Emily Haines' solo album release in the UK.

DiScuss: What do you expect the video to look like? Have you still got the refrain of 'Monster Hospital' in your head going bam-shick-bam...? Howie B?
