It goes a little something like this...
I've been reading DiS comments for a while now and I've think I've figured out the general formula.
So, in order to save everybody else the bother, here goes...
"Oh great news!"
"No it's not. They're shit."
"No, they're really good."
"No they're not - I'd rather eat my own arm off than listen to them."
"Shut up."
"No. You shut up."
"You're an idiot."
"No. You are."
There you go. I have no opinion about The Long Blondes. I went to a gig to see them play once in Paris, but they didn't turn up.
or they say...
"this isn't new! it's a re-release!"
which is true in this case...
Edinburgh...
...On Valentine's Day...and two days before my dissertation is due...Let's play another round of good idea/bad idea...
oo they're playing in the Old Market.
That's an odd venue, it's just down the road from me.
It's a lovely venue
and it has a well stocked bar.
It is also not far from me.
I shall be there.
this band
are ok, i just dont think the songs are strong enough for them to break through+be as huge as they are tipped to be. Guess i'll see.
Moi aussi perhaps
I've never even heard of it? Whereabouts in town?
I think the big new is MORE EROL B-SIDES
They have been genius so far.
How is this only just news?
I bought my tickets liek a week ago.
Manchester.
Never been out in Preston, but I'm betting Manchester's night life's a bit better.
Giddy Stratospheres
is brilliant. I think they fell down with the poor choice of 'Weekend Without Makeup' as a single, but if the radio play this one to death they'll be made.
it's a bit long
which leads me to believe it'll be passed over, despite being the best track on the album.
near Western Road I guess
near the post office near the Providence near my house.
I truly hope this helps.
It is a nice venue actually, the only time I've been there before though was to see some Salsa thing with my Mum when I was 10. I got tired and made her take me home.
This has nothing to do
with Giddy Motors. I'm dissapointed. Although I quite like The Long Blondes.
But...
They have shortened it quite a bit for the single release.
i have that first 12"
this version is better. it deserve to be released again.
...
a truly dreadfully dull band. There you go. If I had to see them live I'd probably fall into a deep coma.
Generally
the b sides seem to be being favoured over the a sides for being played out. I think so many people have already heard these singles a trillion times they want to hear something new thats great, and erol seems to be doing that consistently with them. They made a mistake with all these rereleases.
