Oooooooh: New Kaisers album

Kaiser Chiefs have announced the completion of the follow-up to 2005 album Employment, with a release date scheduled for February.
The record, which remains nameless, will be preceded by new single 'Ruby'; available for download from February 12th and then on physical formats from the 19th.
The band are also expected to announce a string of UK shows to support the birth of an album that looks set to make or break them.
So they'd better have something to show for all that time saved flogging the same, tired song for the last two years.

heh!!!!
:)
that article is not true
the new single 'Ruby' is available for download a week early, 12th feb and is released on the 19th. then the album is out after that.
cant wait!
no you're wrong
its great news.
No
I may have been wrong about everything else in my life but I'm right about this
nope
definitely bad, i checked.
statistically then
you're likely to get this one wrong too.
no
it's all been builing to this
That
picture annoys me as much as the bad news.
it was a promo
picture for employment i think. I dont understand the hatred, they just make pop songs which are fairly harmless to even the angriest music critic, surely?
Come on!
You can't have a Kaiser Chiefs article on here without fitting in a "we started it" bit, surely? That's the rules!
I was hoping from your headline that the album was going to be called "Oooooooh" - that would have been funny.
This band, though, are a classic example of how the mass of opinion seems to have changed for no better reason than "they got popular". They're pop music. They entertain. Their frontman jumps up and down, encourages audience participation and cares whether you're enjoying the show or not. I like them.
people are right...
to hate this band, i can't quite pinpoint why a lot of people hate them it's just a combination of a lot of things. i like how the lead singer and the drummer are clammering for the camera time while the others could care less.
employment was average at best for me anyway. capture/release was far better by a far better band.
I hated them from the start
I have no problems with bands getting big
good for you
they bore the greasy crap out of me.
Thats why most of the people i know dont like them, boredom.
Same here I reckon it's great news
and if their show in Paris last month was anything to go by the new material is heavier, but just as infectious. I know most people on this board will hate to hear it, but Ruby was the standout of the new ones and I'd hedge bets will be the song to propel the band to mega status. they're still as entertaining as ever live. long live the Kaisers. they're so much better than a load of the other mainstream indie rubbish around.
Kaisers
I read an interview by them recently (can't remember where) and they were building this up to be their big artistic statement and more mature than their last record and blah blah blah. They went out of their way to mention there were no 'oooooooooooh' build ups either. Hopefully this results in something better than 'Sam's Town' since that is a big pile of wank.
On a side note... am I the only one who fucking hates the drummer in this band? He comes across as a cunt of the highest order.
I hate them
Because they have lyrics like "watching the people get lary, it's not very pretty I tell thee" (sorry if it's not spot on but thats the jist) a fucking five year old could write better lyrics, plus his voice is irritating the drummer looks like a dated 80 year old britpop fan from the early nineties and well the list goes on to be honest, what would be better would be if someone could pinpoint whats good about them!? and don't you dare try to tell me they are just good pop songs! just because most of the nation are idiots and like whatever's popular according to the adverts on tv or mainstream radio like Edith I like anything remotely bland bowman doesn't mean it's good it just means it's catchy, and catchy ain't always good!!! HIV is catchy!
Is he the one with the hat?
I stay up late to hate him
lyrics
dont make music
seats
dont make cars. but you wouldnt want a car without seats
he's right
the worst news since the birth of the members of Kaiser Chiefs.
Nick is lovely
hush yourself.
you wouldn't want
music without lyrics.
oh, wait...
I can say with my hand on my heart
that I have never ever EVER liked this band.
E.V.E.R!!!!
it would be fun to join the ranting
But i can't remember what they sound like.
If it annoys you, stop inflicting this stuff on yourself.
the
first album had a few notable moments on it, although their sound does grate after the first 80 million listens (thank you radio 1)
THIS BAND SHOULD HAVE NEVER EXISTED
but there we go, at least they have to die one day also.
Poor Kaisers
My nephew likes them but not as much as the Arctic Monkeys which are his faves - he's 6 :) but yeah - this is music for real youngsters.
I agree
Radio 1 are to blame for me hating a lot of bands I used to like.
Pity there is little alternative to Radio 1. Commercial radio sucks just as bad in Glasgow (and most other regions).
...
What are the odds that Ricky will shave off that ridiculous ginger handle-bar moustache he is sporting in time for promoting the new album?
Why do bands equate evolving musically with growing facial hair? It's like Britney and Christina equating maturity with acting like a slut.
when really
Britney and Christina should both grow massive Lord of the Rings style beards.
Re:
At least it would cover up Britneys zits.
but gymmy you work for them
so your opinion is not really valid
he is a cunt, i have met him
a really snide smarmy rich boy, his dad is a lord...and he has servants
Or...
Ricky Wilson and the rest of the Chiefs should proceed to get knocked up by some redneck fame-obsessed back-up dancer.
Hahahaha!
Pretty funny huh? I only signed up to DiS to leave this comment. It's the first time I've ever thought of something funny to say.
she should grow it low
cover up the rest of her 'stuff'
There's a simple solution to this problem.
Don't listen to Radio 1.
And God said "Let there be 6!", and there was 6, and you could listen to Lammo every day. Hooray!
So it's thoroughly ironic that they're playing I Predict A Riot now.
But at least not twenty times an hour every day since mid-2005.
Good God
You bunch of grumpy bastards.
some people who make comments
on DIS are really funny
Modern Way
is by far their best song so far, maybe a sign of progression? Still think they have an awful lot to make up for though, after their first effort...
Who cares?
Really who cares? They are a hideous creation.
Err I thinks quite a few people care>>>
Looking forward to recieving this Album. I hope it's good and goes on sell a lot of copies. It's all Art baaaaby!! and Art is good for us, innit....
