License to Killers? Flowers and co. asked to pen Bond theme
- Artists:
- The Killers »
Las Vegas' successful indie-rockers The Killers have apparently been approached to write the theme song for the next movie in the James Bond series.
The four-piece, whose second album Sam's Town was released earlier this year, are yet to make an official comment about the offer. The Sun, though, quote a source:
"The Killers have reached the perfect point in their career to do a Bond track. They have the right sound, right look and a huge fanbase, making them the perfect choice."
The next Bond movie will be the twenty-second in the series, and the follow-up to this year's return-to-form (if the critics are to be believed - I've not seen it) Casino Royale. The next film's working title is Risico.

You haven't seen it?!
what the fuck have you been doing with yourself?!
i dont think the killers are nearly consistent enough to write a decent bond theme...having said that chris cornells theme this time round wasnt good but still did a decent job on screen...
why can't they ask Radiohead to do
Bigboots/Manowar?
I hope they don't change the name of the film
to Mr Brightside or Somebody Told me!
So the next Bond film
will be out in... what... a couple of years? And they're already deciding who's going to do the soundtrack? The Killers could be the 21st Century equivalent of Slade by then. This can't not be bollocks, can it?
How do you have 'the right look' to do a Bond song?
Can somebody explain the similarities between that Rage Against The Audioslave man and Tina Turner, apart from the fact they're both really annoying?
Tabloid Bollocks
There is no way they would be deciding this yet.
Yes, it does.
I think it's great.
Further proof
that anyone who reads and takes notice of the Sun is of no further use to the human race.
i quite liked
Fog (Again) at the end of A Scanner Darkly. Assuming it was Fog (Again). If it wasn't (which I think it was), I now look very silly.
Last Week
Amy Winehouse was suppose to be doing it...
^agreed with bedgell^
It'll be like Madonna's miserable offering for 'Die Another Die'.
that would
actually be brilliant. i reckon.
but the name 'risico' sounds like a porno. bond's shite these days.
I don't think Cornell did a
"Shit" song but its def not up there with some of the other Bond tracks.
I always feel I need to defend CC a little bit though as I've always been a fan of Soundgarden.
Killers to do a Bond song???
Can't see that bunch of BONEers doing it myself.
Soundgarden -= great
everything Cornholio has done since = lame.
Including the dismal Bond theme.
Not a massive fan of the Killers but they can pen a decent tune and I agree they have the right sound (and the perfect name). Perhaps a cover of Licence to Kill?
It should be Muse
all their songs are basically Bond themes anyway.
Pipettes
obvious answer.
65daysofstatic
Youthmovies
Mogwai
whats this bond theme panic everytime
while the films are totally crap??!
All i can hear is Sean Connery saying
Mishta Brightshide
Cornell...
...should've just revamped 'Limo Wreck' for Bond, that'd learn them all.
Interesting recent interview with him here where he knocks the eh dulcet octaves of the lad from A-Ha:

yes
that is very true, especially if bond was on horseback for knights of cydonia...mental
