Klaxons ready new single: new rave to make it to 2007!

So it seems the this-week's-fad of new rave does have legs after all, as scene leaders Klaxons have announced details of their next single, due for release in January.
Not that we ever thought that people would grow tired of Klaxon's feverish punk-pop - call it whatever you like, but it's poppy-punk-rawk with a fast electro backbeat, and that's not 'rave' in my book - but the whole shove all these different-sounding bands into an inaccurate pigeonhole just 'cause you can dance to them thing's a bit, well, tired innit?
Anyway: the trio's new single will be 'Golden Skans', and it'll be released on January 22, exactly a week before their debut album, Myths Of The Near Future. Which is good, apparently. Mr Colin Roberts of DrownedinSound.com is certainly a fan.
The single will be backed by live versions of old single 'Atlantis To Interzone' and something called 'The Bouncer'. Are new-ravers well into cricket? Or soap opera dogs? Mint!
Next month's must-be genre: cricket-core.

they are so shit
hoody over content again i think
too cool for school
i think i just heard this single on the radio.
and, after first listen - sounds like hardfi.
now, i love their other singles so, maybe this perception of the single will change, but....... so far... not happy :(
FUCK OFF
KLAXONS OWN.
you have become much more positive this time
you're such a bandwagon jumper LOL
New Rave
bollocks
xCRICKETxCOREx
yeah
i thought
it was Neu Rave?
Two things:
1) Klaxons are good, I like them
2) If I where a cricket helmet on stage for the Dis Nottingham show next saturday, can I be a Cricket-core poster boy? Please.
if that's you in your profile pic?
then definitely
get someone to take a photo and make a poster though
we'll give it away with our February issue
eee
i thought of hard-fi too, when i first heard it.
Klaxons have about three good songs
Is it not telling that the b-sides are a cover version and a live version of an already released song? Atlantis To Interzone and Gravity's Rainbow are both ace. They do a couple of good cover songs in their set too
Other than that, they're pretty average
having heard the album
i know this to be a lie. sorry dove, but 2007 is theirs, the maccabees' and mc crabbycrab's.
i watched them live last weekend
and they were shit. really shit. i mean what kind of music is that ? also if i want a rave i go listen classics not these influenced teenager angst punk rubbish. oh god new rave is so premature, so indie-shit.
CRICKETCORE
this is too weird...
my last two summers have been spent dreaming about having a cricket team and soundsystem called CRICKETCORE.
you can only be on the cricket team if you're on the soundsystem team.
so you could be.
slow left arm bowler and tail end bats man
but also selecta/engineer.
anyway. you didn't need to know this.
black cricket...
is the way forward.
You have to hold your bat upside down, and praise satan if you hit a 666.
Huzzah!
I'm doing it, i need a new profile pic, I want it to involve cricket gear.
I hope I'm wrong
There are too many average bands in the world, after all. I was just pretty underwhelmed by the actual music both times I've seen them, tis all. Their shows are undoubtedly fun though, I'll give them that
roll on
post-cricketcore
=]
glowsticks and airhorns?
klaxons rock!
???
Glowsticks are great, airhorns are annoying.
Myspace isn't working so I still don't know what they sound like.
