Has old age finally caught up with Prince?

The singer is rumoured to be undergoing hip surgery; at least, that's what The National Enquirer says. But fret thee not, fans of the seemingly evergreen Purple fella: Prince's problems stem not from old age, but from his penchant for high-heeled footwear. Well, he is a bit wee...

"Over the years he has battered his body so much that his joints, especially his hips, are causing him a lot of discomfort," says a 'source' in the US magazine. Prince's position as a Jehova's Witness, though, makes surgery difficult - he can't have a blood transfusion under his religion.

Well, here's to some more years of shaking that funky thang...

As anyone in America knows, The National Enquirer is the biggest piece of shit tabloid available. It makes The Sun look like the Wall Street Journal.

I've mostly seen this Prince story reported in the British music press (DIS, Playlouder, etc.) because the American media know anything that is reported in the national enquirer is crap, pure and simple.
I'm surprised DIS would sink this low.

Do a google search on "prince hip surgery". Nothing on the first page of results is American.
Feel free to prove me wrong people. Direct me to a respectable American site reporting this.
And no, the gossip page of the New york Post (2nd page of google search) is not respectable.

Prince used to be the most fiery talented funky son of a bitch on earth. Now he's just a washed up, god-bothering tranny-loon sociopath with too much foundation on.

He should get his back catalogue from 1990 onwards surgically removed, and his new album sterilised.
