Blur's Rowntree: Blur will never tour again

Blur's Dave Rowntree has told BBC 6Music that his band will never tour again.
The still-popular Britpoppers' drummer told the digital station:
"The days of Blur doing a tour will not happen. Most of the band have kids now, and when you're a touring band you have to make a choice, so there will never be a return to that. But we have been talking about doing an album next year - we have even set a date for it."
Rowntree echoed bassist Alex James' recent comments that the band would like former guitarist Graham Coxon to be involved with any new album: "We'd all like to do it with Graham, we may have to beg him a bit though."

I read this as no long world tours or whatnot...
...not that there would necessarily be no more dates here and there.
Reading Festival next year. Do it.
Doooooooooo IT
Yes.
last time blur did reading
i thought they were pants.
I'm sure they will be touring
in 20 years time when tax man comes calling! If you havent't seen them live never mind, I thought they were pretty average live.
-
Even tho they are my favortie band they where hit and miss with the live shows.
I reckon Blur will play live again though. If they wouldnt he would have said blur will never play live
we'll never tour again
we couldn't record without graham
we're releasing an ep in the next month / six months / year
the next record sounds like the foo fighters...
all these things have been said a few times. the first one especially.
never trust anything blur say, just be happy they do what they do when they eventually do it.
and they're great live.
Agreed
they are great live! I've seen them a heap of times and I was never disappointed.
Me either :D
And alvinsimon is right, don't listen to them, they and most bands talk rubbish about their futures all the time
liver
I only saw them once, at the NEC for the 1999 singles tour, and I thought they were very good live. I've heard several bootlegs of their gigs and I've never been disappointed
damon said this
before the last album, and they toured that.
and this is the drummer talking.
pffft.
I saw
them play in canada once in a little theatre in Kitchener. It was amazing, granted i was about 15 at the time but still i remember thinking it was excellent.
They are definitely a band that im not ashamed to admit i was a massive fan of when i was younger. not so much now like but...
