Due to numerous reasons 21gunsalute (or Minotaurs as they are now known) are unable to play TMF this Saturday but fear not as one intrepid young lady has filled the breach!

At stupidly late notice we have managed to convince Emmy The Great to perform just for you. Never heard of her? Well below is a quick recap.

EMMY THE GREAT
Is already a legend in her own right. She writes sweet'n'wee-soured folk ditties with hints of Adam Green and the shambles of Cat Power. She's a very special and very sweet luminary in waiting who will charm you to the floor, only to flutter her eyelids and restore your faith in all that is beautiful.

Excellent. Emmy's fantastic! "Edward is Dedward" and "My Party Is Better Than Yours" are brilliant songs.

Which makes it pain in the arse I'm not going.

PS. In a blatant and shameless plug, if anyone else lives in London, isn't going to the TMF and, having gone to the W.H.O.R.Efest on Saturday is looking for a way to fill their Sunday evening, come to the Summer Antifolk Festival at the Buffalo Bar (£5 entry, doors from 6:30, great acts from UK and US including Bandini, Peanut, Joe Buzfuz (organiser of Blang @ the 12 bar Club), David Cronenberg's Wife and Paul Hawkins amongst others.

I feel so dirty now :(

I guess I agree it is better than her other songs but I don't think that's any criticism of her. Pretty much any singer-songwriter (unsigned or otherwise) would give anything to come up with something that good!

I've been gigging round the London scene for a few months myself and, to be honest, she's near enough the only unsigned act I've heard where I've really thought "shit, that's raised the bar high"!
