DiS presents: Blood Brothers UK tour 2007

Yes! It's a Drowned in Sound tour! We're rather excited...

We've been quite literally dying to tell you this for weeks now, but we're finally in a position to let y'all know the details for January's Drowned in Sound tour, headlined by Blood Brothers.

One of our favourite bands of like, ever, the Seattle five-piece are dropping on by to promote their fantastic new LP Young Machetes, released through Wichita over here on November 20th (more here) and we'll be ensuring some extra special guests and supports along the way.

Tickets for most of the dates are available now from the usual outlets, priced around £8.50 for each show and we'll be announcing more details before the gigs take place.

So without further ado...

Bristol :)

just as my DiSsertation is due in. Fantastic I can go and get drunk and enjoy this.

marvelous

pity its islinton ac. but still, will be ace.

isn't that a 2007 tour?

top class all the same like

Ace!

I'll have to not see my Mam on her birthday mind, but that Cardiff gig will be fun :-D

eeep!

i knew i'd ruin it!

Argh! They're all so far away!

I'm gonna have to go to London then!

LONDONNNN!

and Oxford!!!! and could I go to Bristol too? Hmmm....
Blimey O'Riley, I'm going to dance my fucking knees off! Those going to Aberdeen make sure you get your tix like now as Tunnels is the size of a shed.
Seriously, well done to whoever didn't book them for the Mean Fiddler again, let's hope the Academy can bloody get the sound mix right this time!

LONDON!!!

Oh yes yes yes!!!

I am a very happy bunny at work now :-D

fd

Boooooooooooooooooo

!

If you could get Help! She Can't Swim to support again that would be amazing, that was possibly the best tour ever....

Young Machettes takes a while but is reet good too.

we are listening to it now...

...10/10?
Hmmm... maybe not, but close to.

I think it's their best album yet.

Second half drops off a bit

imo, but its still great stuff. Vital Beach is completely brilliant

I prefer

Rumours Laid Waist to this one personally. Im waiting for it to grow on me but it's not happening...

!

Personally, it's not a touch on Crimes in my opinion, I liked the noise and screeching and Beautiful Horses type stuff.

We Ride Skeleton Lightnin is a tune though.

8/10

It's a DiS tour...

still no fucking Newcastle!!

rock city basement?!

They played Rescue Rooms the last two times they came over, which is both a better and a bigger venue - to quote big Marvin - what's going on?

metric just played newcastle

we can't please all the people all the time.

.

I really like this album, love spit shine your black clouds.

.

Just been on ticket web, does that mean all the unlisted venues are sold out??

SRSLY>....

yes you can

and must

...

help.

.

Anyone?

O RLY?

This tour wasn't on DiS last night. They won't have sold out in a morning.

It's not even listed on Manchester Academys own website yet!

Have faith.

No.

If it's sold out, it's still listed

considering how londoncentric this place is

ISLINGTON ACADEMY!?!?

It's the worst venue I've ever been to in london

Was the Scala booked up or something?

Who cares

I'll be there.
I'll be drunk.
I'll be dancing.
FIRE FIRE FIRE.
I'll be playing records and playing with myself.
Can't wait.
Falling face-first into a painting...

See you mofos

Down the front of the Islington Academy, even though I have to come down from Hull to see 'em. 4 days after my essays, w00t!

Wait

I guess it won't be an expansion of the Brothers and Sisters tour, then. Shame. Still, guess that means longer setlists :D. How about you guys ask Test Icicles to reform, since they practically ARE a half-decent Blood Brothers clone

It's just I've heard YOU personally slagging it on here I think

anyway, I'll probably be there though it's not exactly encouraging me to go knowing the sound will probably be awful

yay :D

I managed to get to 3 dates on their last tour, what an amazing week that was. Might try for 4 on this one. Shame tickets aren't £4 anymore though :/ I'll be feeling poor afterwards.

awesome!!

Only seen them once at a festival, which was great but isn't quite the same. Snapped up my manchester tickets!

!

sounds good to me.

In my opinion

The new album has the best vocals by miles on a Blood Brothers album, Just brilliant.

I'll hopefully go to The Cockpit...

Never been a huge fan or anything, but I like them enough to justify going to see them.

Cardiff tickets

Only appear to be from here for all who care: http://www.clwb.net

they were absolutely stunning

at the Trail of Dead show last week. i am so there.

how were

Trail of Dead? Did they play the "hits?"

I'm a very happy man :D

YES! tickets ordered! 'MARCH ON ELECTRIC CHILDREN!!!'

i hate your eyes

can we swap for a bit, just so i can see trail of dead? :(

BLOOD BROTHERS YES!!! day before my mums birthday though, lamecore. Make an edinburgh date! do iiit!

Trail of Dead were... um...

i don't know. they were good, i guess, but i wasn't feeling it. they only played for about 45 minutes in the end and the sound wasn't all that. sometimes they were good, but that seemed to mostly be on the older material.

Another Morning Stoner at the end was ace, though :o)

that makes me feel slightly better

and having just listened to their new album, which is absolute gash, i don't hate your eyes quite so much :)
