While I agree that Mr. Murdoch does have a way of spoiling things, he is just an investor.

And it's not like any myspace kid could name the previous set of investors.

I doubt it will stop myspace becoming the most important tool for new bands over the next few years.

Why would he ruin a mass money maker? Obviously it needs tweeks, but its a very good move if your in the game to make money.

Myspace is pretty naff anyway if you ask me (yes i have account, who doesnt these days haha), Oh well life goes on. whens he buying DIS? ;)

Does this mean he will suck all of the "marketing information" provided by people in the form of personal details and drink them in smoothies at the top a his flaming tower of babel, therefore absorbing the minds and souls of millions of young hipsters from around the world, thus staying YOUNG FOREVER?

I don't think that would happen, maybe some kind of 'premium' account or something that you've got to pay for.
If you had to pay just for basic use no one would use it, because there's always going to be smaller free versions as well.

Myspace is one of the most popular sites around, I think the advertising on there will make him even more rich. Then I suppose there's a lot of 'data analysis' things that Murdoch would be able to use for market research and everything.

Well it wasnt going to be too long was it really? I mean, so many stupid people in one place. I bet Business turds all over the world coun't write their cheques fast enough....

myspace is pretty useful for bands actually, you can browse for people you might think are interested in your band... i do how ever hate all the emo bastard posers they suck

Well.. as much as everyone disses My Space, if you actually look at what it is it's an incredible tool for BANDS, PROMOTERS, ZINES or anyone looking to promote something to an audience.

Think about it - you're in a band - with this site you get a page (FOR FREE) that in effect is an advert for your band and your music. As soon as someone clicks on your page an MP3 starts up. All necessary info is on 1 page while the user listens to the track.

You can also keep in touch with all your fans through ONE website, very fucking easily through that bulletin board. ACE!

myspace is an incredible place! it's free! here in America thses days thats hard to come by anymore. those bands that want to get started get heard here. for those of us that aren't pervs or looking for someone to "hookup" with, it's a great place to share your interests with other people. music, art, talent, social studies...oh wait these are the things they are already taking away from schools, you know to prevent us and our children from having any type of independent thoughts or actions....this may be the next closest thing to pen pals, for x-sake, we're all already paranoid about that white substance that would be sent in the mail as it is! for him to buy this, hell, just another switch on what he wants us to see or what he's being paid to show us. there is enough crap on tv through FOX, why can't he leave this alone? lie after lie and as its said he'll probably make us pay after he reigns...
