Rob Da Bank launches new Rob Da Bank Show with DiS faves
Debately the only man left regularly supporting new music on Radio 1 (apart from the recently, and wrongly, snubbed Steve Lamacq), Mister Rob Da Bank, has a new show.
He sent DiS an email which said this: "The new show's called, imaginatively, The Rob Da Bank show! Every Sunday on Radio 1 from midnight 'til 2am and covering all bases from the leftfield - techno, indie, reggae, dubstep, breakcore, hip hop etc... A Maida Vale session each week from the likes of Metric, Nina Nastasia, Man Like Me, Kids in Tracksuits or Blood on the Wall."
He continued typing and said Beirut were doing a session or something soon, too!
Listen back to the launch show, featuring an exclusive live set from Maida Vale from DiS Recordings' Metric and also Jeremy Warmsley reading pages from a book, online here: www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/robdabank/

"Debately the only man left regularly supporting new music on the BBC"
I don't agree with that.
Huw Stephens? Adam Walton? Probably some others, I can't think.
Mixing It...
on Radio 3 has plenty of new music.
i thought
Huw Stephens has been cut?
Wording changed, slightly.
...
Zane "everyone hates him but he does occasionally play some great stuff" Lowe
Nope
he's got a new show, playing mainly/exclusively unsigned bands.
I like zane lowe
I find his voice soothing.
if only they stopped
putting on the interesting stuff in the middle of the night and put it on at a more sociable hour.
if u like dance music annie mac's good
so there :P
yeah very true!
both shows are archived online tho, ours is at bbc.co.uk/liverpool under 'pure musical sensations' on the listen again player
oh
jag I spose
Pah....
Well now they've pushed the only half decent music shows to some ridiculously stupid time of night when the majority of people (bar students pwrhaps) wont be listening. Utter shite. Thank fuck for 6Music - not great but listenable
It's all about Loose Ends
Ned Sherridan, hooking you up with the new shit! ftw!
6music
supports new music throughout the day, on all shows, don't you know. If not there's always my show - every Saturday 6-8pm on www.purple.dsu.org.uk.
uhm
6Music is heavily playlisted and when i hear it it's usually playing something new like The View or something 'new' like The Smiths.
RdB plays news stuff like Brightblack Morning Light, Lianne Hall, Patrick Wolf, Cheese & Biscuits, Brazilian techno and loads more.
i know which one i prefer listening to.
Nice jag though.
