Some bands what were dissed somewhat by ol' big-maaaf Liam Gallagher in the New Musical Express t'other week 'ave hit back at the band what panned 'em, sayin' all kinds of potty-mouthed shite.
The Kaiser Chiefs ("a bad Blur"), The Paddingtons ("fucking awful") and Keane ("twats") all suffered the wrath of Gallagher junior, and had the following to say in their defence:
Ricky Wilson, Kaiser Chiefs (pictured, avec stoopid dogs): "He had a go at me for wearing make-up. I only wore it to look more like him."
Tim Rice-Oxley, Keane: "Noel's a cunt. He was in a band that was very brilliant in the mid-'90s but now they're just not important any more."

there was a time when Oasis has a slight wit when they ranted. Noel still possesses a way with words and seems like a sound bloke, but Liam's lame attempts at insulting the current crop of bands, was pitiful, as is the new single, and more than likely the album, which will no doubt recieve thumbs up from NME and get 8+.
The best response from all the bands would have been, to not say anything, they shouldn't have to answer back the pathetic drivel from the lead singer in a no longer relevant or decent band.

I love it when schmindie types desperately try to claim Oasis are irrelevant. It's been going on for about ten years now. It usually precedes Oasis going straight to No.1 and selling out Wembley Stadium five times over. I trusted them and went to one of their last two Wembley Stadium gigs in 2000. If you went to the second one (or saw it on Sky) you'll know just how badly they had let down people who made the effort. Haven't seen them since.

I've never judged a band on relevance. It's a spurious term that's impossible to prove either way. I just don't see how Oasis can be deemed irrelevant by someone who openly rates Hope Of The States. That Russell guy from Bloc Party isn't one to really talk, whilst their music is good in places, they are a bunch of faceless twats (Kele apart)
Case in point: Before I went with a couple of mates to see them at the NME awards tour I went to get their single signed, apart form Kele the other three didn't even look at us or show any appreciation for the fans who had bought their single (which was utter shite by the way).
Keane are also quite possibly the most soulless, bland 'band' that i have ever had to listen to, so Noel is spot on here.
I'm not the biggest Oasis fan, but I know that they will be around for a lot longer than any of these new bands who will be gone and forgotten about within the next five years
Case in point: Before I went with a couple of mates to see them at the NME awards tour I went to get their single signed, apart form Kele the other three didn't even look at us or show any appreciation for the fans who had bought their single (which was utter shite by the way).
