Bolton hot-heads, Kinesis are to release their second LP the day they split up.
The album is out on June 13th, is entitled 'You Are Being Lied To' and will be appearing via Captains of Industry. The band have said they will be parting ways on the same day, following their disastrous experience on Independiente records. On their way, they played with Linkin Park and the Manic Street Preachers.
Always priding themselves on their righteous fury, the band claim that their second record is 'the one we weren't allowed to make'.
Which is all well and good boys, and the splitting up thing is very noble, but let us say this: if you EVER re-form, DiS will come round and kick your asses permanently. Seriously. We believed in you.

tis a terrible, terrible shame -they should have been supermegahuge - all those memories of them destroying the Joiners twice within a month are going to get promoted to a special place in my head - right next to where i keep my pin number/numerous passwords

if you compared them to prime-era Manics, then yes, they weren't the best, but they were very,very special when they played the smaller venues - first saw them support Hundred Reasons and wasn't overawed, but on their own in a venue you can barely swing a chav in, they owned everyone. FACT

consider the situation - you're slogging your guts out and your label is doing toss all - as a result, the money's starting to dry up - in all seriousness, what the fuck would you do different? Independiente royally took Kinesis up the arse, and for that, eternal shame will forever be over their name.

Aye, it's true, fair enough, you should 'be in it for the music', you really should, but at the same time, you gotta eat and you eat by selling records and you don't sell records if the label does cock all to plug you and your gigs and records.

at one point kinesis had it all. press a band dreams of (just look at their DIS page!), huge tour supports, videos on tv all the while. what the hell went wrong?? my only feeling is the band never really delivered that killer song to make me rush out and get the album. billboard beauty (very good), and they obey (same sorta level of good ish), forever realling (oh dear). then around the same time the album dropped and it was like "is that it??".
After all these huge tour supports i remember goin to see them twice. The second and last time just before the album there was about 40 people in a 400 capactiy venue. maybe hype killed them. i dunno. but after reading the stuff on their site sounds like theyre just giving up. were they only in it for the cash in the first place? surely they were against all that being political and what not.

It very simple they signed for to much money £200,000 i belive, the a&R got sacked half way through, recorded a rubbish album except for Everthing Destroys Itself.
