Albert Hammond Jr has told NME that he's keen to make a second solo record - his first, Yours To Keep, is out now via Rough Trade. It is really quite good, y'know.
The Strokes guitarist said:
"I'm definitely planning on writing and making another. But if no one wants to hear my songs, I can't really make a record."
Any material Hammond Jr does pen between now and The Strokes' next LP is likely to be released as solo work. Said band, meanwhile, are expected to enter the studio in Spring 2007 to begin work on their fourth album. Says Hammond Jr:
"Probably spring next year we'll go into the studio, but there's no set date."
What about March 20? There you go, Albert, date set.
