Dears don't do Astoria show

The Dears have cancelled their London Astoria show tonight (Thursday May 5th) due to 'personal reasons'.
According to BBC 6Music, the band claim one of their number is 'dealing with a personal issue which requires immediate attention'. No further detail is forthcoming so far and the show is rescheduled to take place on July 5th.
Last night's show in Cambridge at the Junction went ahead as planned. The Dears played a 50 minute set which was recorded for Steve Lamacq's 6 Music show. Support came from The Earlies and Miss Black America.

Is the "personal issue" the fact they sounded like shit on Jonathon Ross the other day? I felt sorry for their them, the 'harmonies' were so off. Maybe they just couldn't hear each other or something. I've quite liked what I've heard of them on record.

i seen them loads and never heard murray sing a bum note so must have been some weirdness in what he was hearing, cos it took a minute for it to even out for sure. bummed about tonight but they are not a band that postpones for no reason so i hope they are all ok and i can't wait to see them again. love the b-sides on both the 7 inches, the pic one and the rare white label 7 inch...

JR isn't toally live though, surely they could have stopped it and re-recorded if there was a problem...

I was at the cambridge gig last night, they played an absolute blinder. Although they did seem nervous, and according to murray most of them were very hung over. Didnt seem to be any problems what so ever. I reckon that they're probably being honest about this, hope what ever it is is sorted out soon.
