The Monroe Transfer: new album released, two London dates...
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver September 26th, 2006

Six-piece orchestral something-core (we're sure... probably) outfit The Monroe Transfer are playing two London shows before the year's out - tomorrow and in November - and have also made their first album available to purchase.

Electric Old Wire Noise is the name of said six-tracker, and the 32-minute album's sure to appeal to fans of Godspeed and Explosions In The Sky. Unless said fans are very silly indeed. If you fancy a sample of the band's quite wonderful instrumental music, click your way to their MySpace site, here. They describe the sound of their band as "constantly falling".

The sextet play the following shows in the capital. We advise that you attend...

September
27 London The Spitz

November
16 London The Vortex with Leafcutter John

Electric Old Wire Noise comes in a handmade case and is limited to just 1,000 copies. It folds out and out and out... and is, frankly, a bit of a nightmare to put back together! Still, if you like your sleeves pretty and complex, it's the album for you.

And it can be bought here. And at shows, we guess.
