Songs in The Dark shines light in the Betsey Trotwood

Promising an evening of candlelit music, comedy, poetry, art and more 'SONGS IN THE DARK' is a band new night operating from London's Betsey Trotwood in Farringdon and taking place the second and fourth Tuesday of every month.

Performing on the 22nd March will be SITD regulars Simon Mastrantone ("haunted house" acoustica) and Jeremy Warmsley ("art-rock-folktronica") as well as other such performers as beat poet jazzster John Clarke, talented singer-songwriter Sorcha and some intrigueing psychedelic folk-pop from Anton Barbeau!

Plus, in addition to this Songs In The Dark will also act as a transient gallery space, hosting the first exhibition from artist and Meat Magazine editor Nick Hayes. Commenting on the exibition SITD organiser Richard Dark says, "Hayes's art is extravagant, minimalist, funny and sad, everything from scrawled satirical cartoons to gigantic screen-printed 2D sculptures of impossible emotional architecture - Not to be missed!"

If you're a musician, poet, comic or artist who is interested in performing or exhibiting at future Songs In The Dark events you can check out more info here.

Hi there, I run this night. Just to say we'd love to hear from anyone who'd be interested in selling independent magazines at our night. Drop us a line on songsinthedark30@hotmail.com.
Oh yeah and we also run a night in Cambridge - the next one is this Sunday, and it's at Clowns Cafe King Street, starts at 8:30.

See you soon
Richard

Anton Barbeau is truely one of the weirdest, out there, rambling performers i have ever seen, with an incredible catalogue of songs. Pop/folk/anti-folk -whatever you wanna call it, his performances are just splendid, with song titles including wooden legs, bananas and crucifixion!! check out www.antonbarbeau.com. And www.plummusic.com of course! :)
