The early spring (yet still snowing) festival round-up
Isle of Wight Festival
Faithless and Razorlight have been confirmed as joint headliners for the Friday of the Isle of Wight Festival, which takes place from Friday 10th until Sunday 12th June, at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight. REM, Snow Patrol and Embrace are booked for the Saturday.

The newly added Friday day of the festival is being bulked up with the recent additions of Dinosaur Jr (their first show in the UK for a decade), Megadeth (final UK show). Also newly appointed are My Chemical Romance, The Used, Biffy Clyro, and JJ72. We think Weezer are in there too. Feeder, Sabbath, Velvet Revolver, Billy Idol and Garbage are already set for fun. Runing concurrently with Isle of Wight Festival, it’s the 10th to the 12th June.
Glastonbury
Still no official confirmations technically, but you’ve got Brian Wilson confirming himself, so take that as read. We reckon Coldplay as well, because they’ve left a Glasto-shaped slot in their recently announced headline dates. Glastonbury takes place from Friday 24th until Sunday 26th June, at Pilton Farm, Somerset. Tickets have also been announced as going on sale on Sunday, 3rd April at 9am.
T in The Park
New Order have beed added to the sold-out T in the Park bill, which goes on over Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July, at Balado, near Kinross. They join Foo Fighters, Green Day, Travis, Keane and The Killers.
Oxegen
Looking rather similar to T in The Park (it’s essentially a band swap thing) you have New Order and Queens of the Stone Age being added to the bill, which transpires at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co Kildare, Ireland on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July. Throw in the already confirmed headliners Green Day and Foo Fighters, as well as The Prodigy, Keane, Ian Brown, The Killers… and you’ll see where we’re going with this…
V Festival
Chemical Bros and Prodigy will headline second stages in a late nineties throwback for ya. Chemicals do the event at Staffordshire’s Weston Park on 20th August and Chelmsford’s Hylands Park on 21st August with Howlett and the boys doing vice versa. Franz Ferdinand and Scissor Sisters are already booked into the Butlins of the festival world.
Reading/Leeds Festival
An initial batch of tickets are already on sale as on Wednesday just gone. Nothing confirmed, but it’s almost certain we’ll see The Pixies, Iron Maiden and Foo Fighters. It’s all go for the twin festival on Friday 26 August until Sunday 28 August.
