Pixies rev up for 2005
2004 comeback specialists, The Pixies, have announced their first date of 2005, reports The Tripwire.
The band will be playing the annual music festival, Sasquatch! May 28 at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA.
Other acts lined up are Wilco, Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire, Kayne West, Ray LaMontagne, Jem, and Bloc Party. Internet pre-sale tickets for the the three stage event are available until today, with general public tickets going on sale tomorrow, Saturday 25th February.
The Pixies are also working on a summer tour to take place in June/July this year.

All well and good but are they returning to Blighty. Work meant I missed every. single. gig they played here last year, leaving me in some despair. I want another chance. Give me another chance, I beg you!

They played gigs in London and 2 bleeding festivals. Hardly a proper tour. Hopefully, I should be seeing them at Leeds.

There were rumours.......that they're gonna start tackling different songs on some summer shows (i.e. b-sides & HOPEFULLY more from Bossonova & Trompe Le Monde).....rather than just churning out the hits again. I WILL be attending those shows. I saw 'em twice last year......Brixton Acadamy which was sooooooo fooking brilliant & then at the Forum which was the best gig i've ever been to....... the sound was so spot on.......I nearly cried during Velouria........

Brixton Academy was amazing.. I was at the last night. They opened with 'Head On' and 'U-Mass', meaning that the gig automatically owned every other night they'd played. Anywhere.

That's the one i was at too! Brilliant gig - was very surprised they opened with Head-on. I have the disclive c.d. of that gig - it rules!

Do the Pixies plan to record anything, or just make as much money off their past as possible by just endlessly touring???

I sincerely hope they don't record anything - it will ruin the legacy. However I'm resigned to the fact that they will seeing as they've already recorded one new song and one new cover version.
