This, the fifth year of Teenage Cancer Trust concerts, produced by Who singer Roger Daltrey, also sees Robert Plant, and Eric Clapton appearing as well as Kaiser Chiefs reunited with former touring partners, Franz.

Teenage Cancer Trust was set up to specifically focus on the particular needs of teenagers and young adults with cancer, leukaemia, Hodgkin’s and related diseases.  The Trust builds special units, developed and decorated to cater for teenage needs – usually, teenagers with cancer are either placed in a paediatric ward with smaller children or in adult wards with elderly patients.

Previous Teenage Cancer Trust shows have featured performances from Oasis, The Who, Paul Weller, Coldplay, Bryan Adams, Ash and Doves.

"UB40 and Guests including Eric Clapton, Roger Daltrey" - Don't think I'll be going to that one!

"5th - Franz Ferdinand, Graham Coxon and Kaiser Chiefs" - that sounds good though.

Nothing to do with them being old... Anything with clappers in it must be bollocks. UB40 -ha! I thought they were called the Dead 60s now?

Re: Franz, Kaisers, Coxon and Keane line up for Al

whats wrong with clapton then ?

Re: Franz, Kaisers, Coxon and Keane line up for Al

he's a big boring racist who's forced to cover another artists entire catalogue because the last few albums he released were shockingly bad shite.

(i'm half serious about the first bit, deadly serious about the second)

"whats wrong with clapton then "

Well, he's a middle of the road, blues wannabe (who would want to be that?) who spent his whole career ripping of Robert Johnson, and then just does a cover album of him to get a bit more cash in his pocket.

He might be a good guitar player, but he can't write a song to save his life.

Drab drab drab...

Re: Franz, Kaisers, Coxon and Keane line up for Al

And for a while i was beginnin to think that everyone was under the evil Clapton-spell, rather happy to find there are people who can see the light/truth/that-a- clapton-free-world-would-be-better......phew

blues wannabe? he's one of the greatest blues guitarists ever? and was one of the original exponents of british blues with john mayalls bluesbreakers? how can he be a wannabe?

have you listened to UB40's first album "signing off"? pure class. absolute bollocks now, admittedly, but they used to be brilliant.

who cares if clapton covers robert johnsons entire back catalogue, he made a pretty good fist of paying homage to an absolute legend. reptile was shite, but pilgrim was pretty good.

I was told about this in December. Old news.

UB40 were never, ever good. I'm not getting involved in the Clapton debate...but come on....UBfucking40? They've always been a joke.

nah, i beg to differ. listen to their first album, its actually good reggae rather than shite covers of red red wine or swing low sweet chariot (shudder). really, i thought the same too 'til i heard signing off.

Thanks for giving me some arguments to slag off Clapton with. What an overblown pompous arsehole he is.

Also I will be going to the FF, Kaiser Chiefs and Coxon gig AND Peter Kay gig too. Last year I believe Ricky Gervais did it.

Re: Franz, Kaisers, Coxon and Keane line up for Albert Hall Cancer Trust gigs
