Keane are returning to their toilet circuit roots. They will be warbling away in London's Kentish Town Bull & Gate on Feb 24th, celebrating 11 years of the Fierce Panda label. Support comes from the really rather splendid Gledhill and Buffalo.
Fierce Panda released Keane's first two singles, Everybody's Changing and This Is The Last Time, before they signed to Universal/Island and went on to release last year's second biggest-selling album, Hopes And Fears. They were beaten in sales by Scissor Sisters.
More details of the gig over here. Tickets are available on wegottickets.com, priced £10.
We don't need to tell you this will sell out very quickly.
UPDATE: Gig is now sold out. Tough!

Will they have to make little fliers to give to all their mates and will at least 17 of these fliers have to be shown at the door for Keane to get paid £2.50 per flier thereafter?
Re: Exclusive: Keane to play Bull & Gate
Or lend their piano to all the support bands 'to save time during soundcheck'?

You love them really.

Where are they going to park?!
Will they have to put all the equipment up on that shelf by the stage?...
I'd love to see their rider in the grotty backstage room...
If they turn up late will the wrath of a sound guy be stubborn with them... "no sound check now mate, you're too late, Gledhill headline"
ooh! and will they pay 20 quid to get it video'd by the lazy stoned guy at the back who occasionally zooms in on the lead singer, rolls a spliff and leaves it there with the gate turned up too high on the sound so when you get the tape delivered 5 weeks later you play back some hot still camera action footage of your lead singer and hear only the loudest bits in the set?
Wow, go Keane!

The first time I saw them was in the Louisiana in Bristol (capacity: 110) - they haven't got a lot of equipment so it shouldn't be difficult...

I reckon everyone who goes to see Keane will wait out in the bar bit forcing the support bands to play to their two mates, girlfriend and mum. And in between sets the soundguy will wake up/stop texting his mates long enough to turn the feedback off and put on some hungarian techno music at full blast.

OH MY GOD YOU'RE SUCH A CYNICAL BUNCH OF BASTARDS AREN'T YOU. *shakes fist*
Re: Exclusive: Keane to play Bull & Gate
No. They're just angry at how the Bull & Gate treats bands then is able to spin out its position on the circuit for a few more years because young groups see that big bands have played there. Shame on Simon Williams I say.
Re: Exclusive: Keane to play Bull & Gate
whats wrong with the way the bull and gate treats bands? I find if your polite to sound engineers you get good sound, I think its definitely one of the better venues for unsigned bands in london, its just a bit too out the way to get a good crowd every night, when it has to compete with the over saturation of camden/islington/central
Re: Exclusive: Keane to play Bull & Gate
I agree with your comments about soundguys in general. But not there. Also, the stuff that people have said about the guy with the video is spot on.
