It's Gonna Be Tough - Chesney Hawkes returns
misterben by Mr Ben May 18th, 2001

Chesney Hawkes, the recording artist best known for his early-'90s hit single 'The One And Only', has recently announced plans to re-launch his solo career after splitting with his band, Ebb. Chesney is now writing his own material, and his forthcoming single 'Stay Away Baby Jane', for which MP3 clips can be heard on his website, reveals a considerable change in direction from the style on display on his two previous albums, 'The One And Only and 'Get The Picture'.

Chesney has already been gigging around the country, but the following dates have recently been announced for the summer:

MAY

21st - The Zone - ROTHERHAM
21st - Hedonism - BARNSLEY
22nd - Visage - HUDDERSFIELD
24th - Coliseum - HALIFAX
30th - Ikon Diva - COVENTRY

JUNE

1st - Metropolitan SU - MANCHESTER
2nd - University - NOTTINGHAM
7th - Vodka Fields - LEEDS
11th - Ikon Diva - YORK
16th - University - LEICESTER
21st - Brannigans - ROMFORD
26th - Lonsdale Extravaganza - LANCASTER

JULY

19th - SU Club - SHEFFIELD
20th - Pennington's - BRADFORD

Although no London dates have yet been confirmed, it has been implied that Chesney will be playing some London shows at the end of this tour.
